Review HP Envy Spectre XT 13-2000eg Ultrabook

The cat's meow. With the sleek 13.3-inch Envy Spectre XT 13-2000e

Premium chassis; Good build quality & feel; Latest communication technology; Pre-installed software package; Input devices including backlit keyboard; Good performance; Four speakers from Beats Audio

Port selection; Glossy display; Display measurements are not very good; Emissions (noise levels & temperature); Throttling during full load; Limited expansion options; No other model options

Other ultrabook using Intel Ivy Bridge processors and a 13.3-inch display. Examples are the very lightweight Toshiba Satellite Z930, the Acer Aspire S3 if budget is a concern, and the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A with a Full HD display. The Apple MacBook...

HP Envy Spectre XT (13-2050nr)

If the HP Envy 14 Spectre showcased glass (with its Gorilla Glass covered screen, lid, and palmrest) then the new HP Envy Spectre XT (13-2050 nr) is all about metal. While it's easy to call every silver-hued ultrabook an Apple clone, the HP Envy...

Intel Core i5-3317U processor. Solid-state drive. Beats Audio. All-day battery life

Touchy clickpad. Middling display

The HP Envy Spectre XT (13-2050 nr) is a solid ultrabook with a stylish design, but its appeal is marred by a so-so clickpad and display.

HP ENVY Spectre XT Ultrabook Review

Ultrabooks , whether you like them or not, are here in full force. Manufacturers left and right are releasing ultrabook after ultrabook, so now the question isn't "who can make the fastest ultrabook?" but rather "who can make the best looking...

I know that some of things in this review sound pretty negative, but the HP ENVY Spectre XT is actually a pretty solid ultrabook. The battery is disappointing and the speakers, despite sporting Beats Audio branding, aren’t anything to write home about,...

HP Envy Spectre XT review

Three years ago, HP introduced the Envy 13. This week, we're reviewing its spiritual successor, the Envy Spectre XT. Oh, how times have changed. Then, as now, the Envy was accused of cribbing from Apple's MacBook playbook. Then, as now, it's a shiny...

Excellent keyboard and trackpad ; Solid lower chassis ; Full-size HDMI, Ethernet, and SD card slot

Sub-par display ; Weak upper chassis ; Relatively poor battery life

HP Envy Spectre XT

As the current flagship of HP's laptop line, the new Envy Spectre XT certainly packs a lot of names into one product. This is a premium ultrabook, and our understanding is that the Spectre designation now indicates a level of product above HP's already...

Slim and lightweight, the HP Envy Spectre XT is portable, well-built, and easy to use, with a great keyboard.

The design doesn't stand out as much as the original Spectre's did, and its battery life won't get you through an entire day. From a premium product, we'd expect a higher screen resolution.

A high-end laptop at a mainstream price, the HP Envy Spectre XT gets much of the look and feel right, with only a few missteps.

Attractive, well-built design ; Very solid performance ; Comfortable keyboard and touchpad ; Two-year warranty

Short battery life ; Unimpressive audio

The HP Envy Spectre XT is a solid contender, with a comfortable keyboard and touchpad, an attractive design and top-notch performance. The one downside is less-than-stellar battery life.

HP Mini 210 HD Review

The panel itself is easy to read--at least with my eyes--and text doesn't appear to be that small compared to other mobile devices. If you can read small text on a mobile phone, you should be able to view the screen without any problems. Color and...

WXGA resolution 10-inch screen ; Optional GPS, WWAN or Broadcom CrystalHD ; One of the better button-less touchpads

Short battery life ; Sluggish

HP Spectre XT Review

A capable Ultrabook that's held back by an average screen.

Great audio, fantastic keyboard and mouse, decent amount of ports

Screen doesn’t match the premium tag, power connector hoards space for USB connection

The Spectre XT is quite a capable Ultrabook, and certainly does exude that ‘pick me up and caress me’ feeling. Having said that, it unfortunately doesn’t wow with its screen, which should have been much better to keep up with the overall premium look...
