Review Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p-M61G3GE Notebook

Inner values. A lot of power for little money is Lenovo's promise

Strong system performance; Good brand name speakers; Built-in DVB-T TV tuner; Big hard disk

Weak display (reflective, low brightness); Poor battery capacity; Prone for fingerprints; No USB 3.0

How a principally good laptop can be degraded by installing a cheap display.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 Laptop

The latest Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 and Y460 laptops are indeed spruced up in terms of performance, thanks to the hardware. Today we have with us, the mainstream variant of the Lenovo Y560, and we're expecting quite a bit from this machine, let's see if it...

Review Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 Notebook

Gaming revamped. Lenovo is well known for robust ThinkPads and low-priced office laptops. But a gamer with ATI HD 5730, Core i7-720QM, 7200 rpm hard disk and JBL loudspeakers?! The aggressive price of the Y-model: 860 Euro.

Strong performance, Fast 7,200 rpm HDD, Good gaming performance, Good sound with bass, Pleasant keys, Quiet mouse keys, A keyboard and mouse keys with strong feedback, which don't produce an annoying, cheap clicking noise

Weak battery life, High load- & idle-energy consumption, High temperatures & system noise under load, Low-contrast, dark display, High-gloss surfaces everywhere, Bendable chassis, More stability for the base unit and matte surfaces

Good build quality and keyboard ; Lots of ports ; Four hours of battery life

Horrible touchpad ; Glossy plastic lid ; Subpar screen quality

Lenovo G560-0679AKU

The full-size keyboard has a chiclet-style layout, with a compact numeric pad, which is common for 15.6-inch laptops. While the keyboard is comfortable to type on, Lenovo has tweaked the layout slightly, swapping the positions of the function key and...

Dual-core processor. Widescreen 720p screen. 500GB hard drive

Relocated Ctrl key was irritating. Hefty amount of bloatware

The Lenovo G560-0679AKU gives you an Intel Core i3-370M dual-core processor, 500GB hard drive, and a variety of ports, all for a wallet-friendly price of $599.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p

Very fast, strong dedicated graphics, great specs for the price., Very fast machine, solid dedicated Radeon graphics with 1 gig VRAM, runs cool and fairly quiet, battery life good for such a powerful machine, excellent keyboard, good selection of ports

No switchable graphics, it's Radeon all the time., Looks are acceptable but uninspiring, some flex in lid plastics, no switchable graphics

Though the competition hasn't yet kicked in with myriad second gen Intel Core i7 laptops in this class, we suspect that the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p will hold its rank near the top for performance vs. price just as did the last generation IdeaPad Y series....

The 15.6-inch G560 offers strong performance and battery life for its class and includes features seldom seen on laptops under $700.

Above-average performance and battery life for its class, Very competitive price, HDMI and eSATA ports, ExpressCard/34 slot

Lid easily marred by fingerprint smudges, Touch pad can be tricky to use, Right side of keyboard is mushy

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 Review

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 notebook is a new product this year, positioning the game entertainment, is the most talked about one of the products currently.

This is the first laptop I’ve truly loved. After two stinky HP Pavillion crap-tops I researched and purchased this one. My version is a little different but still a 560 model. Mine has a 320 GB drive and i5 processor. Build quality is outstanding...
