Heavyweight fight. 17 inch screen too small for you? Asus' A95V

good application performance; encompassing upgrade options; relatively cool and quiet under load; USB 3.0

poor display; disappointing speakers; loud hard drive; limited Mobility; CPU Throttling caused by under dimensioned power supply

The predecessor K93S/X93S is still available at prices that dropped to relatively low 650 Euro in the meantime. For fat wallets, the Alienware M18x looks like a nice upgrade. If it could be slightly smaller, 17" notebooks like the Samsung 550P7C should...
