Lenovo 3000 V200 Review

Overall the look is quite plain and isn't likely to excite buyers as much as the latest generation of light and thin business notebooks. That said, looks may not be everything since Lenovo intends to sell this to small business consumers

The bottom of the V200 obviously doesn't feature any ports, but it does provide access to RAM upgrades

Lenovo V200 Ultraportable First Thoughts Review (Video)

The Lenovo V200 is basically the same as the proceeding V100 in terms of build and design. The rear of the V200 has a rounded shape that's different and I think fair to say stylish in its look

You can configure up to a 2.20GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 processor with the V200 and it comes with the new Intel X3100 integrated graphics solution

The V200 doesn't look anything like a ThinkPad, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The V200's silver chassis is generic in many ways and doesn't have the sturdy magnesium alloy that surrounds the ThinkPad X60. But for a cash-strapped small...

It's a nice, affordable alternative to the Lenovo ThinkPad X60 (Vista). For those who aren't infatuated with the Lenovo brand, there are better ultraportables with better features.

Lenovo 3000 V200

Decent machine if you are in for the long haul. A bit like a VW - it will last forever, but you'd better have a good mechanic.

Durable machine. Two years old and she works like a charm after a few fixes. Easy to work on. Quality parts (mostly)

As it ships, the machine is worthless. One must upgrade from 1GB to 2GB RAM, and probably install XP or 7. Vista is a joke on 1GB of RAM. Also, the fliptop is flimsy, exposing the LCD to possible damage which Lenovo will not fix. (Believe me.)

Lenovo 3000 V200

Lenovo offered to "downgrade" the machine to Windows XP to try to speed it up. I declined and returned the machine, not wanting to spend my time doing their work. They charged me a 15% "Restocking" Fee that was not disclosed in the order.

Looks great and very light

Very Slow and difficult to use
