Lenovo G560-0679AKU

The Lenovo G560-0679AKU gives you an Intel Core i3-370M dual-core processor, 500GB hard drive, and a variety of ports, all for a wallet-friendly price of $599.

Dual-core processor. Widescreen 720p screen. 500GB hard drive.

Relocated Ctrl key was irritating. Hefty amount of bloatware.

Lenovo G560 Review

The Essential G560 is Lenovo's entry-level 15.6 notebook. It sports an Intel Core i3 processor, full-size keyboard with number pad, and a starting price around $600. Read our review to find out more.

Good build quality and keyboard ; Lots of ports ; Four hours of battery life

Horrible touchpad ; Glossy plastic lid ; Subpar screen quality ; The Lenovo Essential G560 is a solid consumer budget notebook with a weak touchpad.

Just Awful

Lenovo is pathetic...I purchased march 2011 and upon entering the serial on their website they state it's out of warranty. Right underneath the expiration date it says: This product has a 1 year limited warranty which is entitled to parts, labor and to...

It now serves as a paperweight

Just started blue screening like crazy. Too bad I can't boot off a flash drive (bios doesn't support it). OH YEAH, I forgot, the dvd drive is completely shot too! Not even being detected in bios...sweet

Just bad

After reading other views of the nightmare that is Lenovo customer service, I have opted not to attempt to get the DVD ROM fixed.

It was cheap, and had key features like 4GB of DDR3, big HD (although not 7200rpm) and lots of reviews

Feels REALLY cheap. It flexes, the keys don't push down consistently and evenly. The DVD ROM drive broke and won't open. There is no comparison between Lenovo and Thinkpad. None

Never Lenovo again

I saw a review by 'Disappointed Buyer', and my experience is exactly the same. Will never buy Lenovo again.

Fast machine

If you want them to honor the warranty, good luck

Fan Noise :(

Over at the Lenovo forum, these things are famous for fan problems. One version has the fan running at 100% after waking from sleep. Another has the fan at 100% on boot. In my case, the fan runs noisily every minute or so, then goes quiet. This...

Very nice entry-level laptop for the money

Fan noise is maddening

Good budget laptop

Besides maybe screen quality, spending incrementally more will only get you a few features of the same hardware, like HT with the i3, turbo boost for i5 (Arrandale). If you're looking at the higher end, wait for Sandy Bridge! I'm hoping a processor...

I got it on sale, so the biggest pro is bang for your buck. It has 4 GB of DDR3, plenty big screen, number pad, and best of all an Arrandale processor! Build quality seems good. Runs fairly cool (<65 Degrees Celsius on Prime95). Plays Portal at...

It's cheap ; Mediocre at best screen ; No hyper-threading, turbo boost (you can live without them) ; Fn key where Ctrl should be ; Only about 2hrs battery life of light use (not horrible for 6 cell) ; WEI ran once, then gave driver errors. Couldn't...
