Lenovo Flex 11 review: A two-in-one that's inexpensive without feeling cheap

Lenovo's latest 360-degree hybrid keeps costs down but makes for a decent laptop and tablet on-the-go.

The 11-inch Lenovo Flex has a compact, sturdy design and enough power and endurance to capably take on basic productivity and entertainment tasks.

The display is dim and has limited viewing angles. The Celeron processor can only handle so much. The stereo speakers produce tinny, mediocre audio. No stylus included.

The Lenovo Flex cuts some corners but ultimately delivers as an affordable combination laptop and tablet, if you keep expectations in check.

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook review

If you want a cheap laptop that can take a beating, the $269 Lenovo Flex 11 is one of the only good candidates to choose from.

The Lenovo Flex 11 is an affordable Chromebook with a durable build. Its 360-degree hinges allow it to prop up like a tent, fold flat or be used as a tablet. It has an IPS display.

It's a bit heavy. The touchscreen and spacebar have difficulty recognizing taps. Shallow keyboard is uncomfortable.

Out of all the cheap Chromebooks, the Lenovo Flex 11 is one of the only models that offers extra built-in durability.

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook

The Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook is a well-equipped and semi-rugged convertible-hybrid laptop that offers just enough features to make it a strong bargain over other budget laptops.

Low price. Strong battery life. Survives minor drops. Includes a USB-C port.

Keyboard isn't backlit. Easy to hit power button by mistake. Our test unit balked at bath time.

Chromebooks come in all shapes and sizes. A few, like the Acer Chromebook 14, are even tougher than the sturdy Flex 11. A few have extra features, like the Asus Flip's backlit keyboard or the light on the Dell Education 2-in-1's lid that a student can...

Lenovo Flex 11 Chromebook

The Flex 11 is a durable Chromebook 2-in-1 with solid performance, but its keyboard is too shallow and it doesn't last as long as competitors.

Survives drops from 2.4 feet; Decent performance for the price

Shallow keyboard; Below average battery life
