Lenovo N20p Chromebook review

Lenovo's N20p is portable and functional, but it doesn't offer the performance we expect from a modern Chromebook.

The price and specifications of the N20p position it as a top-tier Chromebook, but it unfortunately fails to stand out from the crowd. Its touchscreen and folding hinge are unique, but pointless given that Chrome OS is not designed with touch in mind.

Review: n20p Chromebook Lenovo

The touchscreen Chrome OS notebook from Lenovo has some appealing hardware on the outside, but the touch display is sub-par, and the internals aren't well-suited to the heavier end of the modern web. Hey, at least it's inexpensive.

10-point touchscreen supports pinch to zoom, two-finger right-click, two-finger scrolling, and other gestures you’d expect. 300-degree “stand mode” is perfect for Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. Best-in-class keyboard. Solid, well-built chassis ; TIRED

2GB of RAM—Really, Lenovo? TN panel display tarnishes the usefulness of “stand mode” by presenting movies in washed-out color. Pricey compared to other options at these specs

Lenovo N20p Chromebook

With a touch screen and 300-degree hinge, the Lenovo N20p Chromebook lets you tap and flip, but its higher price and performance that's the same as the competition means it's sort of a one-trick pony.

Touch capability and 300-degree hinge. Excellent keyboard. Solid battery life. Good sound quality.

Relatively expensive. Drab gray design.

Conclusion The Lenovo N20p Chromebook has two big things going for it: touch capability and the 300-degree multimode hinge. Aside from those defining features, it's really just one of the crowd, sitting alongside many other offerings that have similar...

Lenovo N20 review

The recently reviewed Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook received high marks from us for its sturdy hybrid design and for pairing a touchscreen with Google's Chrome OS. But, that was a laptop intended for educational use. Built to withstand the rigors...

The Lenovo N20p has good battery life, a touchscreen and a better keyboard than most other Chromebooks. The half-hybrid hinge offers additional flexibility for presenting videos or slideshows.

Many other basic Chromebooks cost less, and the 300-degree hinge here seems needlessly limited, considering how many similar systems fold back a full 360 degrees.

Lenovo's N20p is a long-lasting touchscreen Chromebook with a design on the sharper side of budget, but its semi-hybrid hinge feels like a half measure.

Lenovo N20p Chrome Laptop ( 2.16GHz 1333MHz 1MB)

The Lenovo N20p is a consumer-friendly alternative, and Lenovo's first Chrome OS not aimed at either business or education buyers. It's a slim, lightweight ultraportable laptop that takes the central idea of a Chromebook -- a low-cost, simple clamshell...

Take an 11-inch Chromebook, add a touchscreen with a 300-degree hinge, and you suddenly have a model that's versatile and interesting. Too bad it can't be a tablet, though.

300-degree hinge lets you flip the display into stand mode ; 11.6-inch display is also a 10-point touchscreen ; Battery life is a long six hours

Performance is mediocre ; Speakers are surprisingly weak for a multimedia-oriented machine

Take your run-of-the-mill 11-inch Chromebook, add a touchscreen with a 300-degree hinge, and you suddenly have a model that's a lot more versatile and interesting than most of its cohort. It's a touch...

Lenovo N20P Chromebook Review

The Lenovo N20P Chromebook is slightly more expensive than similar devices, but is it worth the extra money?

Excellent battery life ; Touch-sensitive screen and Stand Mode ; Solid performance while staying cool and quiet

Lousy quality display ; Uncomfortable keyboard ; Slightly more expensive than other Chromebooks ; It's a little more expensive than other Chromebooks, but if you can look past the price tag, Lenovo's N20p is a great machine with only minor drawbacks.

Lenovo 's new ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook isn't the company's only Chrome OS machine, and latest to the batch is its new N20P Chromebook. Unlike the 11e, the N20P isn't styled after the company's famous all-black ThinkPad notebooks, instead sporting a...
