Review Lenovo IdeaPad S205 (Fusion) Subnotebook

Netbook plus. Atom is out - Fusion makes the better mobile compan

Slim case; Pleasant stable keyboard; Quiet operation

Reflective 12.5 inch screen; Low office performance; Poor screen rates; Increased temperatures during load; Poor stereo speakers

Movie suitable subnotebook with a good battery life at (almost) the price of a netbook.

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

Any opportunity to remind laptop shoppers of Lenovo's IdeaPad line is a welcome one. While the company is best-known for the vaunted ThinkPad brand of business laptops, the younger IdeaPad line of consumer-targeted systems may be one of the best-kept...

The Lenovo IdeaPad S205 has a typically excellent Lenovo keyboard and a sharp design that belies its budget origins.

The touch pad is on the small side, and the same components can be found for a little less if you shop around. The system also includes a surprising amount of adware.

Combining AMD's excellent ultraportable Fusion platform with Lenovo's consumer-friendly IdeaPad designs, the S205 is a solid, if unexciting, 11-inch laptop ideal for on-the-go Web surfing.

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

The Lenovo IdeaPad S205 is a speedy, oversized netbook that can serve as primary laptop, but this configuration is a bit pricey compared to others in its class.

Good performance. Excellent display, keyboard. Plentiful storage space, RAM for a netbook. HDMI port onboard

Small touchpad. Unimpressive battery life. Pricey configuration

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

Powered by AMD's Fusion APU, Lenovo's affordable IdeaPad S205 provides solid performance and portability.

In the low-cost ultraportable space, the Lenovo IdeaPad S205 is a solid middle-of-the-road pick. For more than $400 less than the latest 11-inch MacBook Air, you get a handsome design, spacious keyboard, and cool-running temperatures. However, the...

Lenovo Ideapad S205 Review

To Lenovo, there is hope yet for the netbook form factor. Among its recent releases is the Lenovo Ideapad S205, a netbook in skin and size only. At heart, it's a notebook. Photos by Brian Chua.Specs: AMD Dual Core E-450 (1.65GHz, 1M L2 Cache, 1066MHz)...

Fits in almost any bag: you can bring this anywhere. Very light, despite the seeming bulky thickness ; Good keyboard, despite the size ; Suprisingly good sound, for a small thing ; Dedicated switch to turn off WiFi, to save on battery and shorten boot...

Small screen, you may have to bump up the fonts or the resolution. But that might limit the number of rows and colums you’ll see on a spreadsheet, or prevent a whole-page view on a document from being useful ; Keyboard not backlit, so either you get a...

Lenovo IdeaPad S205

Ever since AMD's Fusion processors debuted at the beginning of the year, we've been excited about the next generation of low-cost laptops. Thanks to these genius creations, you can buy a lightweight, low-power machine that completely blows away the...

Solid build ; Nice display ; Decent graphics performance for price ; 3G connectivity option

Poor keyboard ; Mediocre battery life ; Battery juts out from the bottom ; Cramped touch pad

The Lenovo IdeaPad S205 has a gorgeous display and strong 3D graphics performance, but it ultimately disappoints with an underwhelming keyboard and mediocre battery life.

Lenovo IdeaPad S205 reviewed- overall solid 11.6 notebook

The 11.6 inch standard is one of those form factors that blur the boundaries between netbook and notebook and many users go for this standard because the respective machines usually pack much better hardware th...

The S205 is a decent entry for the mainstream notebook market, as it packs AMD’s latest Fusion CPU and had HD graphics. The build, although from plastic, is pretty good and the keyboard feels much better than the ones on more expensive machines. But...

Lenovo IdeaPad S205 review

It may lack power, but this petite laptop is highly portable

Light and portable ; Good battery life ; 500GB hard drive

Limited performance ; Compact design means usability suffers

Lenovo Ideapad S205 review

On first inspection, you could be forgiven for mistaking Lenovo's tiny IdeaPad S205 for a netbook. It has the same small footprint and 11in screen that we're used to seeing, but look a little deeper and it's clear this is an evolution of the...

The next evolution of the netbook - it might lack the visual flair of its rivals, but the IdeaPad S205 gets everything else right

Lenovo IdeaPad S205-1038 review

If you're after something that's easy to carry around but has enough power to deal with tasks beyond the everyday then the Lenovo IdeaPad S205-1038 is well worth considering. The cost of £340 certainly makes it very attractive, but there's more to the...

Bridging the gap between netbook and laptop, the Lenovo IdeaPad S205-1038 comes in at a very competitive price even if it does lack the raw power of some of the competition. If you’re after something highly portable but need to do more than send a few...
