Lenovo IdeaPad U110 overview and video

After giving the new IdeaPad U110 its 15 minutes of fame in front of the camera, we got down to business. The 11.1-inch ultraportable is built like a tank -- a...

Review: Lenovo IdeaPad U110

Years after chucking the IBM moniker, Lenovo has worked hard to produce a line of PCs that don't scream “boring business machine.” While the ThinkPad...

Charming good looks will attract the Lenovo faithful who are sick of looking funerary. Excellent business performance will shut up office critics of your “red PC (Harumph!).” Delightfully light and slim

The keyboard, though pretty, is pretty flimsy. Terminator-style face recognition will give you the heebie-jeebies and make you torch all your Schwarzenegger flicks (Especially Batman and Robin). External DVD means one more gadget to tote

Lenovo Lenovo IdeaPad U110

Lenovo's supersvelte IdeaPad U110 is about as flashy as ultraportable laptops get. Somewhere between the fire-engine red, laser-etched lid and the rugged rubbery base coating, the U110 establishe itself as a bonafide MacBook Air rival.

Gorgeous, slim and sturdy design ; Good-sized keyboard

Overly reflective display

Lenovo's consumer-y ultraportable is rugged -- and different -- enough to earn a loyal following

Lenovo Ideapad U110

The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is a little wonder that has the looks, features, and performance numbers to go head-to-head with all the top-tier ultraportables.

Sleek, Asian-inspired design. Trendy interior. Full-size keyboard. Very good feature set. Tops in performance in its weight class. Environmentally friendly.

External optical drive is bulky and can be imposing. Sluggish hard drive. A four-cell battery alone will not cut it for travel. ; Watch the Lenovo IdeaPad U110 Video Review!

Lenovo IdeaPad U110 review: Lenovo IdeaPad U110

Lenovo IdeaPad U110

Gorgeous design; lightweight, yet solid construction; sharp screen resolution; comfortable keyboard; ships with two batteries.

Lacks a built-in optical drive; glossy screen finish sometimes produces annoying reflections; piano finish on keyboard is prone to smudges; fixed configuration can't be customized; no WWAN option.

The 11.1-inch Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is the most beautiful laptop we've seen in years, and behind those good looks is a well-appointed, fairly priced ultraportable. Despite a few minor nitpicks, we recommend the IdeaPad U110 to those who want a...

Lenovo IdeaPad U110 Review

The IdeaPad U110 is surprisingly solid in terms of build quality. The aluminum etch display cover and magnesium aluminum chassis provide both strength and light weight. You can press as hard as you want anywhere on the body of the notebook and it...

Cool design ; Light weight ; Nice battery life with extended battery ; Acceptable overall performance

Horrible screen ; Slow startup (VeriFace causes significant startup lag) ; Keyboard not good for touch typists ; Expensive

The display on the U110 is quite simply one of the worst we've seen in our office. Sure, color and brightness were fine, but the shimmering graininess and horrible levels of reflection made the screen physically painful to view for more than about 30...

Lenovo IdeaPad U110

Lenovo's bright red foray into the ultraportable consumer space is for the most part a successful one, despite a few missteps.

Exterior design is attractive, Light, Extensive, good quality accessories, Small power brick

Flimsy screen, Air vent on left-hand side, Low battery life, Veriface recognition software, Quick access buttons aren't quick access

First Looks: Lenovo IdeaPad U110

Lenovo's famous for its ThinkPad line, but its consumer range IdeaPad line also stocks some surprises up its sleeves in the form of the foxy IdeaPad U110.

At S$2799, this classy IdeaPad might appear to mobile warriors as a rather expensive proposal, but let’s not forget that Lenovo is throwing in two batteries (4 and 7 cell) as well as an external DVD multi-burner drive into the mix to blunt the impact.
