Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d review: Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d

Includes 3D hardware; powerful CPU/GPU combo; excellent keyboard and touch pad.

Polarized eyeglass 3D system isn't very impressive.

One of only a handful of 3D laptops, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y560d skips active shutter glasses for an inferior technology, but keeps the A-list price.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y560D

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y560D is a performance-packed gaming laptop above all else, and the 3D screen, thankfully, is only an option.

Quad-core processor. A gamer's delight. Fantastic keyboard and user experience.

Lackluster battery life. 3D screen has poor viewing angles and lacks proper depth. Runs hot from the left side. Tacky design.

Lenovo's IdeaPad Y560D 3D Laptop Reviewed

We've put the Y560D through our standard benchmarks as well as a suite of 2D/3D tests designed to measure relative image quality. Three-dimensional projection may be one of the laptop's main selling points, but users will still spend the overwhelming...

Good keyboard / trackpad combo ; Great gaming performance ; Solid construction ; JBL speakers impress

Glossy, low-resolution LCD ; Power-hungry processor ; Short battery life ; No Blu-ray option in a 3D laptop

Performance Analysis: The Lenovo Y560D performed well in all our benchmark tests. We were particularly pleased with its game performance—one of the only benefits of a low-resolution panel is the way they can potentially boost framerates by...
