Great, efficient machine

I think you should go with this PC if you're looking for a simple computer to do simple tasks. Not sure how it would fare as a gaming PC, but who knows. I also really like Windows 8. I think it looks cool and makes your life easier.

Has everything you need, nothing you don't. I use it for basic things such as Spotify, Pandora, Web browsing, etc. I like how the speakers are on the bottom. I can close the lid and still hear the music. Nice feature. Also, it's very light, which is...

It is a bit plasticy. The lid is pretty flimsy

Very good for the price

I read through all of the negatives and wondered was I looking at the same product? I provide desktop support for a small company and buy 2-3 laptops a year. Our Road Warriors need something light, quick, and somewhat durable. This laptop looks like it...

Clean lines, light weight, decent keyboard action, clear screen, good layout, reasonably stiff little-to-no flex, easy to set up

Battery life less than advertised, memory BURIED in the bowels of the laptop. Static can effect touchpad response

Terrible

The weight of the laptop is low. Maybe lighter than the Acer Aspire One AO756-4854 with an 11'' screen

Build-n webcam and mic are HORRIBLE. I "upgraded" my Mom's Acer Aspire One AO756-4854 to the lenovo IdeaPad S405 with a "720p" camera... It looks like the protective plastic is still covering the webcam when I made sure it was 1000% removed. My webcam...

Good Laptop but be weary of NewEgg

Be weary before you buy a laptop at NewEgg. I bought the laptop thinking I could return it, but one you open the box it's as good as a paperweight. Newegg refunded me with store credit which sucks and I will definitely never buy a laptop off NewEgg...

It's light and durable. The boot was quick after the initial setup

No CD Drive (which is why I returned it) and the mouse was a little off as well

Bad

I was surprised by newegg's refusal to even speak with me about their defective product. In the past they've been helpful. Perhaps they're changing.

Looks very nice

Laptop arrived with a piece of tape on one of the hinge covers. I pulled the tape, and the hinge cover came off. I called newegg. They REFUSED TO HELP ME. They wouldn't even talk with me about the problem. They said I needed to call Lenovo, which I...

Upgrading my previous review from 3 to 4 eggs...

I am upgrading my previous 3 egg review to 4 eggs. This is due to the following ; 1. The issues that multiple people are having installing Windows 7 has been addressed by Lenovo. It has not been fixed yet, but at least they have acknowledged it and are...

Please see my previous review for details regarding the Windows 7 issue

A word processing dynamo

Battery lasts as long as they say it does ~ 5hrs. Some people mention that the screen feels flimsy, it's just thin.

Build quality of the thing is lovely. Very skinny, the battery doesn't add anything to the shape of the device. It can handle 720p fine, but something I tried to play on Vimeo (presumably 1080p) was skipping ; I have yet to try out Team Fortress 2, but...

Track pad is very touchy; it's one of those track pads that is touch sensitive on the buttons, which can cause the mouse to move when clicking ; No VGA out, you'll have to find an HDMI to VGA adapter if you want to hook it up to most projectors

Great item for the price

Overall, this laptop is good at its price. I couldn't find anything better in this price range. So i picked the best in its price range. Not totally happy with this item but like I said, i can't ask for more. Perfect for daily use. And just a heads up,...

Extremely fast shipping. Item comes brand new in box with seals and everything. About the notebook itself, very slim and light. Easy to carry around. Great for daily and basic use. This thing can handle some decent games. For the price at 359 sale, i...

Battery life lasts about 3 hours and a bit more. Not what I expect to get from this laptop. My Sony Vaio also has the same screen size 14", but the battery life lasts up to 5 hours of continuous use. No DVD/CD drive but i've noticed this prior...

Good for basic use

I am the definition of the average computer user. I basically surf the web, type documents, watch movies, stream media content, download music, and store pictures. No gaming or other hardcore computing going on here. For someone like me, this laptop is...

Lightweight, low cost, responsive and well-built keyboard, bright and clear screen, decent CPU speed, average storage capacity, HDMI and USB 3.0 capabilities, Windows 8 seems to run pretty smoothly, nice size, ideal for travel

No DVD drive, only a dual core processor, Windows 8 installation discs or recovery discs NOT included, webcam only 720p and looked pretty bad after first test, only one RAM slot, RAM and HDD are more difficult to access than most laptops I have seen

Decent Ultrabook.

In response to the review titled "Jason", the entire bottom of this laptop is the removable face-plate. You must flip open the four rubber feet that are attached, not glued, to the bottom which hide 4 screws. There are a total of 12 screws, 5 visible,...

This is a great laptop for the $400 price tag at the time of writing this review ; The AMD A6 CPU is not impressive but gets the job done for your typical everyday use ; The integrated GPU is decent and can run most games on Medium settings at 1366x768...

There is no DVD-Drive but that was already known at time of purchase ; Monitor feels flimsy when opening and closing ; There is a high pitch squeal when using Headphones and not at the maximum brightness setting
