Review Lenovo ThinkPad Twist Convertible Ultrabook

Windows 8 with a twist. Lenovo's unique ThinkPad Twist adopts the

Great keyboard; Inexpensive IPS display; Impressive touch responsiveness; Good CPU performance; Above-average ports selection

Weak battery life; Disappointing GPU performance; High-gloss display with insufficient brightness; A little larger/heavier than competing Ultrabooks; Odd manufacturing quirks; Irritating touchpad; Slow to awaken from sleep

The impressive array of ports lining the edges of the notebook for an Ultrabook—including a full-sized Ethernet port!

Lenovo ThinkPad S230u Twist review

An ultrabook that can convert to a tablet when the occasion demands, the ThinkPad Twist has a lot going for it. The build quality is very good, and there are enough business-friendly features to make it acceptable as a BYOD system. Battery life may be...

Classy ThinkPad design and construction ; Excellent keyboard ; Sturdy swivel-screen hinge

Moderate battery life ; Lacks full vPro support ; No stylus support

Conclusions If you think of it as primarily an ultrabook, but one that can conveniently turn into a tablet when the occasion demands, then the ThinkPad Twist has a lot to recommend it. The build quality is very good, and there are enough...

Lenovo ThinkPad Twist S230u review

Hybrid tablets try to bridge the gap between theconvenience of a tablet and the capability of a laptop, and they'vebeen becoming more popular since the arrival oftouchscreen-optimised Windows 8. The Lenovo ThinkPad Twistdoesn't reinvent the wheel, but...

Twist design feels robust, responsive keyboard, flexible formfactor

Design looks a bit cheap, screen resolution not great

The ThinkPad Twist ditches the usual ultrabook style infavour of robust practicality. The screen resolution may be so-sobut there are no complaints about its sensitivity and theresponsive keyboard feels great too. The twist option is a triedand tested...

Nice machine - good choice!

For the price this is an excellent buy. My wife wanted a convertible PC/Tablet and after a couple of months of painstaking research this one rose to the surface...and we're glad we locked in on it.

Purchased this for my wife and she absolutely loves it. I have also used the machine several times and am impressed with the overall quality of it. Trained by Lenovo some years ago I have been a fan of their products ever since and so far this machine...

It is a little bit sluggish compared to what I'm used to and even she said it's not quite as quick as she would have hoped. I did have to disable the auto-dim as others have noted - Lenovo seriously has to fix that

Fast, but without WLAN

There is no WLAN at the model I bought.

Poorly Designed Keyboard

ThinkPad S230u (33476LU)

I wouldn't do it again. I went with this ThinkPad over several Dell models thinking it would be made better and Lenovo support would be better. I was wrong on both. From the very first day it had a problem waking up from standby mode, it would just...

Nice, but Defective

It's pretty. Touchscreen works well. Fast enough. Light

No removable battery. No optical drive. Only two USBs. It might say it's a Thinkpad, it might be dressed like a Thinkpad, but I've had several Thinkpads. This ain't no Thinkpad. It's too flimsy, too inaccessible, and whoever designed the usability on...

Thrilled to get it

Bought this for my wife. She is thrilled with it. Still getting used to Win 8, but likes it fine. Had an ipad and wanted a convertible. Seems sturdy.

Works great after some help

If i wasn't a patient person and didn't work with computers all day I honestly would have sent this thing back on day one. Out of the box it was nearly unusable and would often become non-responsive for 30 seconds at a time for no apparent reason. Any...

Thin ; Lightweight ; Clear & bright screen ; Great keyboard ; Good performance ; Caching SSD ; Large storage ; Built in gigabit LAN ; Newegg had a great deal on this

Doesn't work great out of the box ; Lots of updates before it works properly ; Bloatware ; Poor sound ; Screen rotation is random at times ; Battery life not great

Decent Quality

Since the solid state drive seems easy to replace, I think I'm going to get a 64Gb one to replace the current. If I make the recovery disks, I should be able to re-install (maybe without the bloatware) Good deal, and I would recommend it even at its...

Good speed ; Light weight ; Not too much bloatware, but it exists ; Keyboard is comfortable to use ; Price (w/ discount at the time)

Battery life maybe 3 to 4 hours (represented as close to 7), but none of the laptops are honest about that anyway ; touchscreen is iffy, and not as interactive as I think it should be. This isn't really new technology, so I expected better ; Came with...
