Lenovo ThinkPad W520 (428426M) mobile workstation

Lenovo ThinkPad W520 (428426M) review: A semi-rugged laptop that's designed for professionals

Excellent screen quality ; Chassis is very sturdy ; Good performance

Touchpad could be better ; Lid could be more rugged ; Only 1-year warranty as standard

The ThinkPad W520 isn't a typical laptop. It should only be considered if you're a professional in need of a strongly-built and well-performing laptop that can help you get your work done efficiently. It's not perfect, but it has stacks of features and...

Lenovo Does Not Support Customers

Do not purchase from Lenovo unless you have strong internal hardware support staff and a dedicated person to manage communications with Lenovo. If you have issues with CS, press to speak with supervisors and express concern with their process....

This particular model has some good functioning features great for those working with legacy software and hardware. Nice to get Win7Pro as an option

Lenovo Customer Support, particularly on the sales side, is grossly inefficient. None of the people you talk to when calling them with issues has real authority to help you. This can be very frustrating if you are an individual or a small business....

Awesome W520

This is quite possibly THE standard in laptop workstations. Similar or better performance than the best MacBook Pros, and much more flexible platform.

Excellent build quality ; Extremely powerful for a laptop ; Many add-in options and ports for connectivity ; Ease of service and assembly ; Great battery life ; Outstanding LCD screen

crickets ; Ok, the power brick is a bit large
