Lenovo Yoga 730 13-inch review

The Lenovo Yoga 730 is a minor refresh that lacks the battery life and display quality to be a contender.

Solid build quality ; Enjoyable in tablet use ; Excellent productivity performance ; Competitive pricing

Mediocre battery life ; Keyboard feels lifeless ; Not the best display

Got $1,000 for a 13-inch 2-in-1? Get the Yoga 730

A new processor and a few other additions make this a solid update to last year's quality 13.3-inch Yoga 720.

The thinner, lighter 13.3-inch Lenovo Yoga 730 two-in-one improves on last year's model with faster 8th-gen Intel Core i-series processors; dual Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports; far-field mics; a quick-charge feature; and -- eventually -- support for Amazon...

Battery life is good, but not great for the category and is the only area where performance is not better than its predecessor in our tests. USB type-C adapters are needed for Ethernet or HDMI output, and there's no SD card slot.

The 13.3-inch Lenovo Yoga 730 doesn't change much from last year, but what Lenovo added definitely improves the package to keep it one of the best thin-and-light two-in-ones you can buy.

Lenovo Yoga 730 (15.6-inch) review: A well-built 2-in-1 convertible, but battery life could be better Review | ZDNet

This 15.6-inch 360-degree convertible is solidly built and well specified, including a discrete GPU and a bundled stylus. Battery life could be better though.

Discrete Nvidia graphics ; Full 360-degree hinge ; Solid build ; Bundled Active Pen 2

Poorly thought-out holder for Active Pen 2 ; Moderate battery life ; Bulky and heavy

Lenovo Yoga 730 | Trusted Reviews

The Lenovo Yoga 730 is a powerful, and well-designed laptop that's a decent, less-expensive alternative to the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1.

Decent power for applications and games ; Excellent exterior design ; Comfortable ergonomics ; Solid screen and speakers ; Cheaper than its key rival

Dell XPS has more speed ; Screen could be a little better ; Battery life inconsistent

Lenovo Yoga 730 review

Durability meets performance for the sake of productivity

Sturdy build ; Well-done trackpad ; Fast charging

Weak speakers ; Battery life just OK ; Slightly heavy

The Lenovo Yoga 730 is a good mix of durability, portability, performance and affordability. Here’s a well-made, compact device that allows you to perform your typical daily workload without a hitch. The battery life could be better, as could the...

Lenovo Yoga 730 (15-inch) review: It's all about the 4K display

How to improve upon one of the best laptops? Trim the screen bezel, which is exactly what Lenovo has done in the Yoga 730, with its 4K panel.

Reasonable battery life for a powerful machine ; Large display with minimal bezel (to three sides anyway) ; Variety of ports covers old and new ; Built-in fingerprint scanner ; JBL speakers are loud (assuming correct relative position)

Bespoke charging port is a wasted opportunity ; No SD card slot ; Massive bottom bezel generates oversized footprint ; Small trackpad ; Some fan noise under low pressure ; Speakers often covered for muffled sound

In its 15-inch form the Lenovo Yoga 730 offers a good typing experience, ultra-crisp visuals from its 4K display and plenty of power to churn through tasks. However, the processor and screen combination limit battery life somewhat, while the overall...

Lenovo Yoga 730 15in review: A mighty 4K 2-in-1 laptop

A highly versatile and speedy 2-in-1 that's more than worth the money

4K touch display ; Stylus is included ; Amazing performance ; Discrete Nvidia graphics

Poor battery life ; Display brightness a bit low

The unassuming Iron Grey chassis of the Lenovo Yoga 15in houses a seriously powerful laptop. And while £1,500 might sound like a lot of money, it’s actually quite reasonable considering what’s on offer. With A 4K touch display, powerful CPU and...

Lenovo Yoga 730 review: Hands on with the Alexa-powered 2-in-1 laptop

Lenovo's latest hybrid laptop brings Alexa to the Yoga platform - but can it topple Microsoft's Surface Book 2?

Yet the Yoga 730 could be set to shake all that up. It's a terrifically versatile machine, and an unequivocal step up from the old 720, with subtle new design tweaks, faster internals and Alexa on board. And with the 13in variant starting at just $879...
