MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K Review

MSI has several lines of gaming notebooks catering to different types of users. In the past few months we've looked at MSI's top-of-the-line GT70, equipped with NVIDIA's GTX 880M GPU. While that's a great notebook for those who want performance first,...

After testing and using the MSI GS60 for over a month, there's plenty to like with the overall package. It's attractive and looks far better than the other MSI product lines (in my opinion at least), and it's not nearly as bulky to pack around....

MSI GS60 Ghost review: a gaming rig in Ultrabook's clothing

It's the natural order of things: NVIDIA releases a new line of mobile GPUs and suddenly the market is flooded with new gaming laptops. It is spring,

Simple, elegant design ; Powerful ; Great trackpad for productivity

Disappointing audio ; Average battery life ; Trackpad is lousy for gaming

The GS60 Ghost is a slim and powerful option for gamers who want a lightweight rig. If you're going to spend that kind of money, though, wait for the unreleased GS60 Ghost Pro, which will bring a sharper display and better graphics.

MSI GS60 Ghost

The MSI GS60 Ghost boasts powerful graphics and a vibrant 15-inch display in an extremely lightweight design.

Svelte lightweight chassis; Good battery life; Solid gaming performance; Vibrant 1080p display with wide viewing angles; Extremely portable

Weak audio; Runs hot when gaming

MSI has proved that you can make a slim 15-inch gaming rig without making serious trade-offs. The $1,799 GS60 Ghost offers lightweight portability with strong graphics, fairly good battery life and a lovely wide-angle 1080p display. MSI also includes...

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K review

One of the first 3K gaming laptops impresses

Excellent screen ; Solid 3K performance ; Stylish design ; Fantastic keyboard

Runs extremely hot ; Lackluster battery life

Whether you settle for the FHD model or spring for 3K gaming, the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K is one 15-inch gaming laptop to beat. Though, while an undoubtedly impressive feat, beyond-HD gaming is neither something I'd call a must-have feature nor will it...

Hands on: MSI GS60 Ghost Pro review

A gaming laptop that's sharp at every edge

Gorgeous 3K display ; Bright keyboard backlighting ; Slick design

A bit pricey ; Some keyboard flex ; Windows 8.1 only

MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro

A gaming laptop with huge power that's slimmer and lighter than many Ultrabooks

Enough power for every game ; Fast, quad-core processor ; Slick SSD-based RAID array ; Slimmer and lighter than the competition ; Excellent 1080p screen

Poor thermal performance ; Loud internal fans ; Disappointing battery life ; Lack of real internal access

There’s reasonable punch to bass drums, with only the lowest, deepest notes missing – the Gigabyte, with its pair of sub-woofers, is the only gaming notebook we’ve seen recently that’s really handled bass well. The MSI instead has a well-balanced set...

Today we have a very special review for our readers, a look at the world's slimmest and lightest 15.6 inch Gaming Notebook. The MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro is currently available in 3 different flavours - ...

Super thin and very portable ; weighs less than 2kg ; backlit Steelseries keyboard ; great screen ; decent onboard sound ; very powerful CPU and GPU ; RAID 0 Solid State Drive configuration – hitting 1000MB/s ; very competitively priced

Gets hot ; a little loud under load ; battery runs out of juice quickly if you want to game on the move

Compact and Powerful

Light years ahead of my MSI GT683 in terms of overall build quality. This is a great step forward for MSI and I highly recommend it. 15.6" screen is very ideal and I cannot imagine smaller for gaming anyways. 3k screen does very well gaming at 1080 res...

Compact, premium feel all around, lightweight, beautiful screen, portability! 3k screen scales 1080 resolution while gaming excellent. 870m is a power house for such a portable form factor

3k screen is glossy(glare type). Trackpad is nice put pressing click anywhere on pad usually moves pointer too for me anyways. Fans get fairly lound while gaming but I guess this is expected for what is crammed in this laptop performance doesn't ever...

Cool one

I have sent the laptop back to MSI company and hope that they can fix the problem for me, I guess no one wants to use laptops with blinking screen.

Other reviews have mentioned the Pros so i decide not to mention them again

The only problem with my laptop is the blinking screen ; The screen will "blink" whenever I play games or even open some software that require to run with graphic cards. I am not sure if its the screen itself that has problem or the battery output is...
