MSI GX70 3Be-007US

The MSI GX70 3Be-007US gaming laptop provides playable 3D gaming, even at full HD resolution and with all the eye candy, at a budget price.

Can play 3D games at 1080p native resolution. Backlit keyboard. Good battery life for a gaming laptop. VGA, 3 USB 3 and 2 USB 2 ports, Mini-DisplayPort, and HDMI.

Lagged at media creation and general performance tests. Heavy. Windows 8 without a touch screen is awkward.

The MSI GX70 3Be-007US put up splendid scores for 3D hi-res gaming for a laptop of its price, even when pitted against two comparably priced Editors' Choice gaming laptops, the CyberPower FangBook X7-200 and the MSI GX60 1AC-021US. If your interests...

MSI GX70 3BE-007US Review and Ratings

With the MSI GX70 3BE-007US, you get speedy frame rates and a boatload of features in a relatively affordable 17-inch gaming laptop. However, this AMD-based system's productivity and multimedia performance leaves much to be desired.

Solid gaming performance ; Loaded with features ; Good battery life

Sluggish productivity performance ; Heavy ; Small touch pad

Only the Asus edged the GX70 in our tough battery rundown test. The latter delivered more than four hours of juice before needing a charge, which is better than average for a 17-inch gaming laptop:

Customer Service

It was also suggested to me by tech support that I try another operating system instead of windows, told him if I wanted that I would have bought a laptop with that in it already.

This is an awesomely fast laptop with a good look about it. The lighted keyboard is great and the weight isn't too bad

The customer service sucks, I tried calling the company to get my win8 product key which they inconveniently put in the bios. Win 8.1 will not accept it that way they want the win key, MSI tech support tells me they don't have it and that I should try...

Excellent, but Flawed

I really do love this laptop, but the crack has upset me greatly. There's no reason for it to crack in this fashion, and I wish this laptop had been more durable.

It is a very powerful laptop, able to run any crytek engine game at full resolution, as long as it is plugged into the power supply. At first, I didn't understand the switchable graphics, but once I figured out how to make sure the computer turned on...

Durability and battery life are major problems. Two out of the three USB 2.0 ports will randomly stop working. The frame has cracked near the hinge on the screen side of the laptop. This crack has been caused just by moving around this laptop with the...

-NewEgg would have accepted it back, of course but they do not replace OpenBox buys with an identical item and that's stated before you purchase. It was return it with postage paid to NewEgg (or Egg Head if you're old) or return it to MSI with your own...

New Egg shipped this fast from City of Industry, CA to the east coast and it arrived 1 day early ; MSI gave me an RMA to return the unit ; MSI claims that the warranty doesn't expire when you remove the "Warrenty Void if removed sticker" on the bottom...

The LCD screen's backlight was INOP. No flash at startup, no flicker of light at any point during startup or on the BIOS screen, no response from brightness. I could still barely see the image on the screen if I shined a light just right on the nice...

Slick machine- powerful once you unlock it. Help desk replaced my issue out of the box laptop and I'm pleased with the results. I have upgraded to a solid state HD and using the original in the 2nd bay. **YOU HAVE TO UPDATE THE' VIDEO CARD DRIVER IN...

I would like to update to a processor but the socket is very limited. I hope they upgrade the series for this mobo

When it was running games and not busy crashing, most of my games ran very well on the machine. High/max and 30fps+ on titles from 2010 and newer. But a game like Planetside 2 dipped into the sub 20fps when fights got big no matter what graphics...

Competitively priced, sound, build quality, screen, blue ray player, and of course the flagship gpu ; Sometimes plays games

I have yet to play any game i own for more than a couple hours without the computer crashing and rebooting itself. Tried everything within the warranty and software-wise to fix it but to no avail

Not all its cracked up to be

MSI has some fantastic machines for some fantastic prices, but they failed to do their research on the APU from AMD. Unfortunately, so did I. The good thing is, Newegg rocks and I have the i7 version of this same machine with Nvidias 770M on the way....

Fantastic build. Probably the best sound I've EVER heard out of a laptop. You can listen to high quality music out of this thing. Best GPU you can put in a machine

They also put the worst processor you could imagine in this thing. Ok, maybe not the worst, but pairing the best video card available for a laptop with such a fail processor made this an instant RMA. Loaded BF3 and even with an SSD (top of the line SSD...
