Great Notebook

4 Gb (2x2) Ocz DDR2 667MHz Ram, 320 GB WD HD, T9300 2.5 GHz CPU, vista 64 bit. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to either do this project for fun or to save the money...I did it for both.

Easy to set up, very strait forward. Everything pretty much just works right out of the box after a short install. Runs fairly cool and have had zero problems with the hardware so far. (Writing this review on it right now)

Great laptop for an amazing price

Alright well i decided to throw in a intel duo core T5700 4 gigs of OCZ ram and a hitachi 5400 rpm 120gig Hard drive with windows 7 installed. So far no problems and everything was pretty easy to install. I did however have a problem removing the cover...

Very good if your looking to to mix and match to your own customization. The price is excellent for this laptop and gives you room in your wallet to get a high end cpu ram and HD

Quality of sound on the speakers is less than average but nothing a pair of headphones wont fix

OCZ OCZNBIS15DIYA1 Intel PM965 15.4" 15.4" DIY Gaming Notebook

Hope you dont mind waiting for rebates, but thats no reason to take off an egg. I had no idea what i wanted in a laptop, although i knew i wanted to pick and choose all the components myself, I did a lot of research, and this puter allowed me to open...

Great DIY Laptop

The rebate process was very long. I had some trouble with one of my rebates, but OCZ cleared it up immediately. I realize most companies don't have fast rebate processes, so I didn't think they deserved to be marked down for it. This laptop is easily a...

The Laptop itself supports a fairly decent range of processors and memory types. The video (though onboard) is about average for the current gaming market (though it'll play games considerably well). Battery life is pretty good, about 2 and a half...

The speakers aren't the greatest. They do their job, but I wouldn't be expecting phenomenal performances out of them. This laptop really has nothing wrong with it other than that.

Great Laptop

I despise ATI, buggy drivers and none existent support. The previous poster stated he received the HL90, they got lucky. I received the FL90 which is excellent so no complaints at all. I opened the box, installed the components in about 15-20 min's....

Great Laptop, excellent quality. Very easy to install components, took about 15 - 20 min's to build. Control over the major components that go into your laptop. Nvidia graphics the primary reason for buying this laptop

Manual is lacking, well actually not lacking it's non existent explaining dropping it to 4 star

IMHO, the HL90 is also a much better looking enclosure than the FL92 pictured, what a pleasant surprise when I opened this box and realized what it was!

It appears OCZ has upgraded their product for this segment of their barebone line; instead of a Compal FL90 or FL92 as pictured and advertised, I received an HL90, which boasts Intel's newer PM45 chipset with support for DDR2-800 and 1066 fsb. It also...

The hassle of buying ddr2-800 memory after ordering ddr2-667 for the product advertised. Also, this has no S-video output for those that want it, but I personally don't care. It does have HDMI-out, however

Everex XT5300T

I bought this last year as the Everex XT5300T. For the money, even a year later, you can't lose with this laptop at this price. What are you waiting for? Buy it now while it still has a mail in rebate!

Lots of bang for your buck. Low price, upgradability, two HDD bays, Dedicated video memory. I have no regrets buying this laptop and would buy it again, even a year later or at a higher price

No RAID, very basic BIOS. Fan exhaust is so hot I save on my heating costs in the winter! (This might be a pro)

Excellent Laptop for DIY enthusiasts

The OCZ logo on the top of the case can be removed easily if you want. This was useful to me, because I sanded the case down and custom spray painted the laptop red and gold (for what I call an "Iron Man" look) for a truely unique look. This is an...

Installation of parts is easy. It took me less than 15 minutes, and would be a snap even for non-enthusiasts. The GeForce 8600M GT, while not the top-dog for gaming, handles games like BioShock, FallOut 3, Unreal Tournament III and Crysis at medium to...

Video card is not the very best for gaming, but still acceptable. LCD is fine, but limited viewing angle. Resolution is WXGA+ (1440x900), which is fairly standard, but I would have preferred WSXGA or WUXGA
