Origin EON13-S review

Just a few weeks ago we reviewed the AVADirect Clevo W230ST, a white-label gaming ultraportable designed to provide excellent performance in a small package. As mentioned in that review, small boutique PC manufacturers often pick up such bare-bone...

Small for a gaming laptop ; Good keyboard ; Excellent 1080p display ; Great performance in games

Dull exterior ; Terrible touchpad ; Harsh speakers ; Loud at load ; Poor value

The Origin Eon 13-S is a portable gaming laptop with screaming performance and a beautiful display, but its high price makes it impossible to recommend.

Origin EON13-S

Previous portable gaming laptops , including the 14-inch Razer Blade and the 11-inch Alienware M11x , have all required serious compromises in design despite their high prices, from low-resolution screens to underpowered components. More recently, the...

The Origin PC EON13-S has great gaming performance for a 13-inch laptop, and unlike a few other portable gaming PCs we've seen recently, it has a full 1080p display.

The thick, generic-looking body feels like a throwback to a time before ultrabooks, and the high-end parts require some seriously loud fans.

Small-screen gaming laptops are rare because they require serious engineering sleight of hand. The EON13-S walks the line between power and portability, but it would be so much cooler with a custom body.

"Great screen, fast boot, sticky key and a jet engine fan"

Great screen
