Origin Eon17-X

Desktop processors, Pascal GPUs and a stunning display: That's what awesome gaming laptops are made of, and the Origin PC Eon17-SLX is the proof in the proverbial pudding. Priced at $3,682, the 17.3-inch system offers power, speed and beauty with a...

Origin EON17-X Pro

The Origin EON17-X Pro is a hefty mobile workstation outfitted for true power users, with a speedy processor and storage system, lots of RAM, and a strong video card.

Powerful hardware. Excellent productivity performance.

Extremely loud under heavy load. Short battery life. Large and hefty.

If you're willing to forego some performance, we continue to recommend the Dell Precision 15 5000 Series (5510), which is smaller (0.66 by 14.06 by 9.27 inches, HWD), lighter (4.98 pounds), and less powerful than the Origin EON17-X Pro, but has a fine...

Origin EON17-X 10 Series

The high-end, fully loaded Origin EON17-X 10 Series gaming laptop delivers unmatched performance, a 4K display, and plenty of ports and storage.

Best-in-class gaming performance. Equipped with 4K display. High storage capacity. Includes a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 3.

Big and expensive. Short battery life. Loud fans under heavy load.

Conclusion To put it simply, the EON17-X 10 Series is the most powerful gaming laptop we've tested. Of course it's incredibly expensive, but on the high end of an inherently pricey category, it delivers precisely what it should, and is a much better...

Origin EON17-X

The Origin EON17-X is a high-end gaming laptop with a desktop-grade CPU and plenty of luxury features. It's more than capable of running games smoothly at the highest settings, and does so at a lower price point than much of the competition.

Costs less than much of the competition. Overclocked desktop-class processor. Very good gaming performance. Plenty of storage space and connectivity options, including USB-C. Customizable keyboard backlighting.

Wide and heavy. 3-hour battery life. Poorly placed fingerprint reader.

Conclusion The Origin EON17-X uses the same formula as the EON15-X—a desktop CPU, a powerful graphics card, and a wide range of connectivity options—to create an even more powerful system. The EON17-X has a sharp-looking design and performs very well,...

Origin EON17-X

The Origin EON17-X is a gaming laptop with a desktop Core i7 CPU and NVIDIA 10 Series GTX 1080 Pascal graphics inside— it's ready for 4K gaming. The laptop is also available with GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 cards. This a a 17.3" desktop replacement size...

Fantastic looks and design quality. Lovely display, pleasing cameras, has the rare IR blaster AV remote. One of the few smaller good quality phones on the market

CPU performance can't keep up with OnePlus 3, though it's not a slow phone

The Huawei Honor 8 is a gorgeous looking smartphone with solid performance, a vivid and bright display and good cameras. It's wonderful that we can get a phone for $400 that looks this good and checks the boxes for so many important features. The...

Origin EON17-X Review and Ratings

The Origin EON17-X is a beastly gaming rig for players who want the best of the best, including Nvidia's top mobile graphics chip and an overclocked Intel desktop processor. It's a $2,699 insurance policy against obsolescence with today's and...

Spectacularly powerful ; Incredibly fast boot-up ; Multicolored backlit keyboard ; Four USB 3.0 ports ; Good value

Bulky, boring design ; Shallow viewing angles ; Speakers could be better

After fully recharging the laptop, we set up the machine in power-save mode (as opposed to balanced or high-performance mode) and make a few other battery-conserving tweaks in preparation for our unplugged video rundown test. In this test, we loop a...

Origin EON17-X review

The most powerful gaming laptop we've ever tested

Unrivaled performance and power ; Keyboard offers deep travel ; 4K media mastery

Annoying trackpad ; Tiny fingerprint reader

With great power comes a gargantuan price tag. The Origin EON17-X is hands down the most powerful gaming laptop out today – shame about the touchpad and battery life, though.

Origin EON17-X review: Hot and loud, but oh so fast

A time will come when we stop referring to machines like the Origin EON17-X as “notebooks.” Instead, we'll just call them what they are: ultra-compact desktops with built-in displays.
