Samsung Series 3 305V5A-A02

Few laptops garnered as much virtual ink at CES 2011 as the Samsung Series 9, a slim, slick 13-inch laptop positioned as a Windows alternative to the MacBook Air . Later came an 11-inch version, but both were priced well over $1,000, putting them out...

Samsung's Series 3 is a more economical take on the company's cool Series 9 laptops, and one of the few 11-inch laptops with an Intel Core i3 CPU.

At $699, it's priced out of the league of other 11-inch ultraportables.

Samsung's sharp designs translate well to this more affordable new line, although the Series 3 is still at the high end of the ultraportable price range.

Samsung Series 3 (NP305V5A)

Its 15.6-inch screen is perfect for multi-taskers who like to work with two windows side-by-side. The screen displays in 1,366-by-768—a standard resolution found in most all laptops at this price. The speakers offered a fairly average listening...

Sleek design at a budget price. Bluetooth. Big 750GB hard drive. AMD GPU gives it an edge in gaming over Intel?s integrated graphics

Lackluster battery life. AMD Llano APU trailed behind Intel Core i3 competitors. Bloatware

The Samsung Series 3 (NP305V5A) may look luxurious, but its AMD Llano APU falls short of its Core i3 counterparts. However, it will wreck Intel's integrated graphics on the gaming grid any day.

Samsung 305V5A

Hot on the heels of Samsung's Series 7 and Series 9 laptops comes the more budget-friendly Samsung Series 3 NP305V5AI.

Graphically capable ; Plenty of storage ; Solid build ; Highly usable

Short battery life ; Limited AMD performance

By cutting down the specs of the Series 7 laptop, Samsung has produced a more pocket-friendly laptop that should appeal to families and anyone looking for dependable budget performance.

Samsung 305V5A-A04 review

The Samsung 305V5A-A04's unusual white case divided opinion in the office. Some saw it as just another budget white laptop, while others saw the unusual matt white plastic, metallic panels and sharp lines as an interesting departure for Samsung, which...

A unique white plastic design and an AMD CPU and graphics chip might draw attention to the 305V5A-A04, but its dim and patchy screen lets it down badly

Pretty Decent

Thing loads extremely fast! Plays Guild Wars 2 on Medium settings pretty solidly with no issues, or issues that one would expect when a laptop is under load. Graphics card seems pretty good for a non-Alienware comp. Core quad seems to power through...

It only came with 4gb of RAM. I guess that since I got this thing at like a 45% refurbished discount, I can't really complain about not having more, but I am lol. To fix this I have ReadyBoosted on of my flashdrives for an extra 4gb of "RAM

Quality Veristile Laptop

Good buy, I love it so far. Its just another great quality, well built Samsung Product.

Many ; Fast boot & wakeup features are great for impatient people like me ; The A6 3410MX is an awesome processor that is way underrated/undersold by AMD. The factory specs can be tweaked using K10stat to not only provide significantly higher clock...

5400 RPM HDD = Dino age. That got swapped out promply for a Scorpio Black 7200rpm ; Bloatware (though what OEM isn't) ; NO secondary HDD bay, no firewire/usb 3.0/esata - Especially the esata ; Speakers (though most lappy speakers never get loud enough...

Great Machine

Doing everything i ask of it, light gaming, photo and video editing, with out straining. upgrading to 8 gig made a huge improvement ; Overclocks easily to A8 clock levels, without excessive heat build up ; Build quality so far seems SOLID lighter than...

touch pad a little touchy (could be that i'm just use to the old Toshiba i had) ; Didn't buy it from Newegg (they didn't offer it at the time i purchased it) found it locally on sale for a lot less

Nice laptop considering.

So what are the major cons you will notice with this laptop? Screen is less reflective than normal as its not glass panel , which I like, BUT STILL reflects as there is a thin plexi layer. The screen is not of the highest quality, the picture is...

Please keep in mind I have only had it for a week since this date so reliability has not been tested. I will start out for reasons why I purchased. First it was not from new egg I needed to get one quick so I went to comp usa. Who had NOTHING in stock...

with my i3 laptop I notice no difference in speed (you can look up the benches on anandtech) in fact even because of benches you will notice a lot of other laptops people hardly notice a difference with the older series Pents compared to their new...

it looked good

I thought this seemed like a solid buy, but as usual, laptops are just a photograph - locked in time; what you see is what you get and don't plan on trying to get anything else. Hopefully I can get my money back for this underrated paperweight.

clean look; performance average for the price; gigabit lan; nice size hd

Only get stereo out of the headset; video card is unrecognizable on AMD website so it can't be updated; can't get 4:3 aspect ratio for older games; Samsung control center tries to run the entire laptop (color settings, graphic settings, annoying sound...
