Review Samsung 530U3B-A01DE Notebook

Ultra-cheap? A fast flash memory and a big HDD are paired in the new ultrabook 530U3B from Samsung. The slim notebook comes with a bright and matt 13.3 inch screen. At a street price of below EUR 800, it belongs to the cheaper representatives of the...

Elegant design, USB 3.0 and LAN port, High brightness, Matt screen, Good battery life, The elegant and compact build of Samsung's 530U3B meets our taste

Display hinges allow the screen to teeter, SSD cache only; no full-fledged SSD, Low image contrast, A full-fledged SSD as the drive

Samsung Series 5 Ultra NP530U3B-A02

The Samsung Series 5 Ultra NP530U3B-A02 is a handsome, capable ultrabook, but its price tag is difficult to justify given its unimpressive performance and more nimble competitors.

Full-size HDMI port. Supports WiDi. Sleek, lightweight chassis

Keyboard isn't backlit. Some flexing on the lid. Unremarkable battery life. So-so performance

Samsung 530U3BI review: Samsung 530U3BI

The 13-inch Samsung Series 5 Ultra NP530U3B is a more affordable ultrabook than the executive-line Series 9, and has plenty of ports crammed into its sleek body. Get the hard-drive version, and you'll shave an extra $150 off the price.

The touch pad, keyboard, and battery life aren't as excellent as you'd expect from a laptop this attractive-looking, and a plastic feel throughout makes it feel like a step down from a MacBook Air, which it is, in price.

Samsung's finally made an affordable ultrabook, and the 13-inch Series 5 Ultra is a well-priced and far slimmer product than its 14-inch cousin. Still, it's not a runaway bargain, and it feels like corners have been cut in adapting it from the stellar...

Samsung Series 5 530U3B review

It has barely been a year since Intel launched its Ultrabook specification, but we're already seeing plenty of variety from different manufacturers and, refreshingly, prices are slowly beginning to drop. Samsung's Series 5 could be considered a second...

Exactly what we were looking for in an Ultrabook, and although not perfect, it's very reasonably priced

Samsung Series 5 13in (530U3B) review

Exactly what we were looking for in an Ultrabook, and although not perfect, it's very reasonably priced

Average performance aside, the Series 5 is exactly where we think the Ultrabook market should be heading. Although Intel’s specification looked great on paper, the huge prices must have slowed sales considerably; but here we have an incredibly thin and...

Samsung Series 5 13in (530U3B) Review

Being an illustrious brand, Samsung is known for offering flawless computing gadgets since long time. This time the company has come up with a new notebook, 5 13in (530U3B). It depicts a perfect blend of both performance and design.

Advanced processor ; Eye-catching display ; Light in weight

Not so impressive battery life ; Touchpad and keyboard should have been better

Samsung Series 5 13in (530U3B) Review tells us that buyers will find this ultrabook an average one. The features of this ultrabook can be found in other many such devices and that too at budget-friendly price. The battery life is not at par with many...

NP530U3B

The Samsung Series 5 is the perfect light laptop for those who want to add a low price into the mix of decent power and good portability. It's a great alternative to some of the premium Ultrabooks out there and makes some smart compromises.

Low Price for an Ultrabook, Good Touchpad and Keyboard, Plenty of Connectivity

No SSD, Plastic Chassis, Heavier than other UltraBooks

Samsung Series 5 530U3B review

Far from the perfect Ultrabook, but considering the few compromises and the low price it has a lot of appeal

Like many of its Ultrabook peers, though, image quality leaves something to be desired. It may be bright, but viewing angles are a touch narrow; skin tones are dogged with a cold, bluish tone; and the greyish blacks make for a low contrast ratio of...

"Slim and sleek with VARIOUS ports and great performance"

I got the Ivy Bridge version of this ultrabook lying around and the boot-up time was fast, even with only the hybrid SSD. The i5-3317U CPU felt responsive and the matte 1366 x 768 display had excellent horizontal viewing angles but not vertical. I was...

Keyboard felt tactile and responsive and touchpad was responsive too. The matte screen has great horizontal viewing angles and speakers were extremely loud and clear sounding. The design felt premium with largely aluminum builds and numerous ports.

The keyboard isn't backlit and the touchpad still has individual plastic buttons like a good ol' laptop (it is multi-touch though). The battery life isn't as good as other ultrabooks and hibernate has been deleted (just like other ultrabooks).
