Samsung 530U3BI

The 13-inch ; is a more affordable ultrabook than the executive-line Series 9, and has plenty of ports crammed into its sleek body. Get the hard-drive version, and you'll shave an extra $150 off the price.

The touch pad, keyboard, and battery life aren't as excellent as you'd expect from a laptop this attractive-looking, and a plastic feel throughout makes it feel like a step down from a MacBook Air, which it is, in price.

Samsung's finally made an affordable ultrabook, and the 13-inch Series 5 Ultra is a well-priced and far slimmer product than its 14-inch cousin. Still, it's not a runaway bargain, and it feels like corners have been cut in adapting it from the stellar...

"Slim and sleek with VARIOUS ports and great performance"

 

I got the Ivy Bridge version of this ultrabook lying around and the boot-up time was fast, even with only the hybrid SSD. The i5-3317U CPU felt responsive and the matte 1366 x 768 display had excellent horizontal viewing angles but not vertical. I was...

Keyboard felt tactile and responsive and touchpad was responsive too. The matte screen has great horizontal viewing angles and speakers were extremely loud and clear sounding. The design felt premium with largely aluminum builds and numerous ports.

The keyboard isn't backlit and the touchpad still has individual plastic buttons like a good ol' laptop (it is multi-touch though). The battery life isn't as good as other ultrabooks and hibernate has been deleted (just like other ultrabooks).
