Samsung Ativ Book 9 ( 2015)

Both systems have 12-inch displays with better-than-HD resolutions, both use Intel's Core M processor , both have premium-feeling designs and are very slim and light, with each weighing just a hair over two pounds.

Samsung fits a good number of ports into its very slim 12-inch Ativ Book 9. The system gets the best battery life to date from a Windows system running a Core M processor.

Shorter battery life than Apple's very similar 12-inch MacBook, and a matching configuration costs more. The lack of a touch screen and small touch pad aren't ideal for Windows 8.

This very usable 12-inch laptop is a good, if expensive, tool for websurfing and casual use, but would benefit from better battery life.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 (2015) Review

Beautiful display; Thin and light design; Solid overall performance

Finicky touchpad; Short battery life

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 is a compact laptop with a stunning display and good overall performance, but it suffers from short battery life.

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite entry-level DTR laptop has a great looking design, but with mediocre performance, it's all sizzle, no steak.

Slim chassis and lightweight design. Affordable price. Speedy solid-state drive

Lackluster battery life. Miserable performance from Samsung's mystery processor

As most any parent will surely agree, no two children are alike, not even within the same family. The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite looks a great deal like the premium Ultrabook Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus, our Editors' Choice for high-end ultrabooks. The much...

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review: High-resolution, small-footprint premium laptop

Take a beautiful Windows ultrabook design. Add a super-high-resolution touch screen and longer-battery-life Intel Haswell processor. What could be wrong with that?

The Ativ Book 9 Plus laptop has a sturdy, slim design, ultra-high-res touch screen, and really good battery life.

Costs several hundred more than we’d prefer; shrunken HDMI port; doesn’t convert to a tablet form -- strictly a laptop.

If you’re just looking for an all-around excellently made Windows touch ultrabook and don’t mind that it's on the expensive side (and doesn’t convert to a tablet), the improved Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is worth the investment.

Samsung Ativ Book 9

Samsung has new laptops and tablets coming soon, including a Book 9 Pro and Book 9 Lite, but this particular Book 9 is really just a rebranding effort. Gone are the "Series" naming conventions for Samsung laptops, which were admittedly getting wonky...

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 is still one of the smallest and best-built Windows 8 ultrabooks around, and has a crisp 1080p display.

It lacks a touch screen, and battery life is disappointing for such an expensive laptop.

Formerly the Samsung Series 9, the rebranded Ativ Book 9 got little more than a change in name; the laptop feels dated, as it lacks a touch screen and the benefits of newer Intel processors.

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Review

The Samsung Series 9 NP900X3E offers strong performance in an exceptionally thin form factor.

Incredibly Thin Form Factor ; Long Battery Life ; High Quality Touchpad

Expensive ; No Touch-Display

It’s hard to find many faults with the Samsung ATIV Book 9, as the ultrabook manages to do most things fairly well. The most serious issue that can be raised against the device is its cost. While many of the features of this device are fantastic, many...

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Review

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 keeps the lightweight chassis of the previous generation and adds a full HD display, but relatively short battery life and high temperatures give us pause.

Attractive, lightweight chassis; Vivid, full-HD display; Solid graphics and performance; Samsung SideSync app integrates Samsung Android devices with the PC; Fast boot time

Below-average battery life; Runs hot

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 keeps the lightweight chassis of the previous generation and adds a full HD display, but relatively short battery life and high temperatures give us pause.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 (2015) review

Samsung's smallest, sharpest and safest Ultrabook yet

Super thin and light ; Cool screen features ; Solid security measures

Pretty expensive ; Short on screen space

Be prepared to pay up for Samsung's would-be Retina MacBook Air rival, filled to the brim with security and style.

Samsung's ATIV Book 9: What all future Windows laptops will look like [REVIEW]

Gorgeously thin frame ; Ultra light ; Kickass display with very bright

Pricey ; Occasional slowdowns ; Wonky Samsung software ; Middling battery life

The Samsung ATIV Book is the yin to Apple's new MacBook yang.
