Samsung Notebook 9 (15-inch)

The Samsung Notebook 9 feels so light that it's hard to believe it's a 15-inch laptop. In fact, at 2.7 pounds, this is among the lightest notebooks with this size screen we've ever tested. There's also a lot to like about the notebook's fast overall...

Samsung Notebook 9 (15-inch)

A 15-inch laptop with many of the benefits of an ultraportable, the Samsung Notebook 9 is a chameleonic computer capable of being almost anything you need.

Outstanding battery life. Solid overall performance. Good port selection.

No touch screen. Limited local storage. Some less-expensive laptops deliver better value.

Conclusion So what kind of laptop is the 15-inch Samsung Notebook 9? Even after spending a couple of weeks with it, I can't say for sure. And given how much it gets right, I'm not positive it matters. It stacks up admirably against Editors' Choice...

Samsung Notebook 9 review: redefining the thin-and-light

Thin and light laptops have been around for so long it's hard to remember a time before them. Apple demonstrated that a thin and light machine could easily be a full-fledged computer with the...

Light weight ; Big screen ; Snappy performance

No backlit keyboard ; Iffy build quality

Samsung Notebook 9 15-inch

The 15-inch Samsung Notebook 9 is a key new example of a bigger screen in a smaller body. For $1,199 in the US, it includes a current-gen Intel Core i7 processor, a big 256GB solid-state hard drive, and 8GB of RAM -- that's a very reasonable price for...

The Samsung Notebook 9 packs a big 15-inch screen into a slim, light body, plus a Core i7 CPU, all at a very attractive price.

The design is bland, the keyboard is on the shallow side, and the base model has only a lower-res, non-touch display.

Despite not decisively beating the competition in any one area, the Samsung Notebook 9 comes close across the board, making it a safe, if not exactly exciting choice for a slim 15-inch laptop.

Samsung Notebook 9 15-inch review

Samsung's ultralight Notebook 9 successfully balances power, portability, and price.

Power and portability both come at a price, and how you balance it matters. The $1,700 Dell XPS 15 and the $1,500 Asus Zenbook UX501 both beat out the Samsung Notebook 9 15-inch in benchmarks, but were considerably more expensive (as-tested) than the...

Samsung Notebook 9 (15-inch) review

One computer design trend I've been enjoying lately is the growing number of laptops that fit big 15-inch screens into relatively thin, light bodies. For many years, a 13-inch laptop, such as the MacBook Air or Dell XPS 13 , was as big as you dared go...

Samsung's svelte 15-inch Notebook 9 is one mighty Windows 10 laptop

There's not much this machine can't do.

Thin, lightweight ; 15-inch model comes with fast charging ; It's a workhorse ; Screen is beautiful

No touchscreen ; Battery falls short of advertised 12 hours

Samsung’s Notebook 9 is fast, light, and won’t break the bank. You don’t give up ports for portability, but you do have to give up a touchscreen.
