Samsung 550P7C review

The Samsung 550P7C is a capable 17in laptop with power to spare for general computing and Windows games.

There’s very little not to like about the Samsung 550P7C. The keyboard and trackpad are particularly good and while the speakers are a little bassy, we were quite impresssed. We’d like the build quality to be better, but at this price, we can’t...

Samsung 550P7C

A powerful desktop replacement with game-worthy graphics but minus the high price tag.

Stonking performance (aside from HDD) ; Game-worthy graphics ; Nice ergonomics ; Relatively affordable

No SSD by default (but upgrade instructions provided) ; No keyboard backlighting ; Poor battery life

If you’re after an unapologetic desktop replacement that can handle anything from video decoding to gaming, Samsung’s Series 5 550P7C is a great buy. This powerful 17-inch laptop might have a few shortcomings, but its looks, usability, performance and...

Samsung NP550P7C

This laptop is really powerful and the battery life lasts fro about 4 hours which is quite impressive for a 6-cell battery. I am a designer and work with heavy programs such as Adobe suite and Cinema 4d. This laptop allows me to work on them flawlessly...

The most disturbing bit probably is the way the monitor is attached to the base. It does not seem quite reliable. I have not had any problems yet but I am afraid I might run into in future

Slim, attractive and well made. Good keyboard. Fast processor with a large hardrive. Good sound quality, HD screen is very sharp ; Overall a very neat 17" laptop, would reccomend. 9/10

No real bad points. Perhaps the Ram could be larger

Samsung NP550P7C

Everything, bar those listed below. :)

Battery life is very low, but only if you use it at full power. Turning down brightness and putting it on Power Saver solves these problems ; The left hand side of the laptop can get very very hot when being used for Games or Films etc
