Review Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7A Notebook

Attack on the gaming elite. Alienware and Asus have to watch out: Samsung presents a serious opponent for the gaming leaders, M17x and G74SX, called 700G7A. In addition to high-end components (Radeon HD 6970M) and good equipment (Blu-Ray drive), the 17...

High-end screen, Illuminated keyboard, Good input devices, Good equipment, Two big HDDs, Blu-Ray drive, Recovery DVD, Great performance, Samsung has opted for an extremely fast high-end GPU with the Radeon HD 6970M

Temperatures during load, Sensitive lid, Scanty battery life, High weight, A matt case lid and a better battery life

Samsung Series 7 Gamer 700G7A

Gaming laptops are the domain of a rather limited crowd. The smaller boutiques, though many in number, all rely on a limited amount of designs from common manufacturers like Clevo. Only the major OEMs have the resources necessary to build something...

Pleasing keyboard and touchpad ; The best laptop display we’ve ever tested ; Quick, well-rounded performance ; Affordable (for a gaming laptop)

Gaudy exterior ; Average build quality ; Subpar connectivity ; Poor battery life

This isn’t just a gaming machine; it’s also a portable workstation, a multi-media powerhouse, and a capable desktop replacement. The Samsung Series 7 Gamer is the only computer you’d ever need. Portability excluded, of course.

Samsung Series 7 Gamer review

Samsung's Series 7 lineup is targeted at folks who want a little more oomph in their laptops, offering larger screens, gaming-ready GPUs, and potent processors. It's time to meet the family's portly fun-loving uncle, the Series 7 Gamer.

Stylish design ; Bright, attractive display ; Strong (though not category leading) performance

Lackluster battery life ; A bit pricey ; Not very future-proof

Can Samsung’s beefy gaming rig live up to its name?

Samsung Series 7 Gamer review: the company's first gaming laptop makes its way to the US

Sure, thin, light and power-efficient may be the latest trend in notebook design, but one category of portable computing isn't afraid of going against

Gorgeous display ; Graphical powerhouse ; Subtle, clean design

Gamer Mode" dial is over the top ; LED management software is limited ; Chassis design limits port availability

Despite suffering a handful of faults common to oversized laptops, the Samsung Series 7 Gamer excels where it counts. Gamers looking for a rig that's easy to relocate won't be disappointed.

Samsung Series 7 Gamer

The Samsung Series 7 Gamer delivers on most fronts, making for a powerful gaming laptop that's equipped with some great features. Its minor shortcomings are tempered by its reasonable price tag.

Adjustable power settings via Mode Dial. Gorgeous display. WiDi. Blu-ray. Great keyboard/touchpad combination. Reasonably priced for its class. Solid battery life

Different modes are of questionable value. Minor amount of flexing on the lid. Some bloatware

Samsung Series 7 Gamer

For many PC gamers, owning a powerful laptop that will let them have their fun anywhere is preferable to staying rooted at home with an oversize desktop rig. The Series 7 Gamer is Samsung's answer--but how does it stack up against other...

Runs games smoothly at high resolutions ; Moderately priced for the power

A power hog ; Heavy

A great system for game fans on the go, the Series 7 Gamer won't completely break the bank.

Samsung Series 7 Gamer

There has been a small flood of big-screened gaming mega laptops recently, timed to coincide with the release of Nvidia's latest graphics and Intel's newest processors. Ivy Bridge Core i-series CPUs started in quad-core configurations first , although...

The Samsung Series 7 Gamer has a fantastic screen, plenty of ports, a blazing processor and graphics, and most of the features you'd be looking for in a gaming desktop replacement.

This clunky beast isn't a looker, and it's hardly priced to be relevant to most shoppers: at slightly under $2,000, this is a specialty item.

The Samsung Series 7 Gamer is huge, expensive, and unattractive, but it's also one of the best gaming laptops that we've seen this year. If you don't mind its beefy 17-inch form, you won’t be disappointed.
