The keyboard is full-sized and has the added benefit of a numeric keypad. The keys are in the chiclet style. Typing felt comfortable enough, but it was nothing compared to the scalloped-shaped keys on the Dell XPS 15z. Samsung's NP700Z5B-W01UB utilizes...

Core i7 CPU and AMD Radeon GPU are a powerful combination. WiMAX and WiDi 2.0 wireless feature onboard. Big 750GB hard drive. USB 3.0. Great battery life

Bloatware. No Bluetooth

The Samsung NP700Z5B-W01UB is offers strong performance in an attractive aluminum chassis.

Great laptop

Replacing the hard drive (HD) with an SSD is not for the faint of heart: in part due to opening the case, but also bc no recovery/Win disc ships with the laptop. I successfully cloned the orig HD onto my Samsung 830 256GB SSD as follows: - First, watch...

i7 in a laptop for less than $800 ; Monitor gorgeous at 1600x1200. Matte finish prevents glare (but appears a little washed out compared to glossy screens) ; Elegant case design. Brushed aluminum top ; Silent except when playing games, even then fans...

Trackpad is far and away the worse part of this machine, and likely why it was refurbished. The trackpad is both over-sensitive and insensitive: moving the cursor is often registered as a left-click, but then "soft-clicking" (tapping the trackpad) is...

Expected higher quality and service

Very dissapointed with unit received and service from NewEgg for distributing defective equipment. Unit was supposedly refurbished and I would think quality checks would be made by the distributor before listing for sale. Refund policy is none at all...

Good looking and sleek

Unit was dead on arrival, appeared to be hard drive issues/failure

Don't order this laptop or anything on Newegg at all

I'm a college student and I wasted $800 on a laptop that's broken. I've heard horror stories of people buying off Newegg but I bought it anyway. When I received the box it came with a 1 year limited warenty from samsung, but they refused to honor that...

Looked nice (while it lasted)

Sharp edge that everyone else is complaining about ; Stopped working after 4 months. Led lights show, but screen doesn't work ; Newegg and Samsung told me I'm out of luck

SAMSUNG NP700Z5B-W01UB

I'm a in college for graphic design and I need a laptop, so it really sucked when it broke. I would return it but it's not under warranty and I couldn't even afford to buy an extended warranty anyways.

I was very happy with everything this laptop had to offer

Screen broke after 2 months

Great Laptop

If you're wondering if the refurbished tag will have an impact, feel relieved in knowing I have had no problems so far with the laptop and everything runs well (doing everything other than gaming so far ie: internet, microsoft word, skype, streaming...

Semi-lightweight, I7 processor (though low ghz), good webcam, fast startup, and long battery life ; Since I've not seen an answer for just how long the battery lasts, I'll put in my insight so far: at 100% battery it said 2 1/2 hours remaining, then i...

Everyone has been whining about the sharp edge, personally, if you have skin you should be okay no problem ; Bloatware, but easy to get rid of. Either jsut go through and uninstall and delete it all or do a clean reset with windows 7 ; The touchpad is...

AWESOME

My main worry when I first bought this computer was the touchpad. I loved everything else about this computer. With recent software and driver updates (the software manager lets you easily update everything to current right out of the box), the...

Fast, great screen, super light, nice backlight. Easy software manager to keep all of your drivers and programs up to date, all in one place. Runs quietly

battery life is good, not fantastic. Screen is a little bit of an odd dimension. It looks like 8 1/2" by 14" which is a little short, but keeps the whole machine pretty small with the 10-keys on the side. However, it's a super bright, awesome screen

Great laptop / Bad service

Overall, I'm glad i bought it. I'm really loving how silent and cool it runs. As long as you don't have to deal with samsung support i'm sure you will like it too!

Great design, good price, good speed, very quiet, runs cool, no crashes or bsod so far

Replacing the hard drive is difficult because you have to take the whole bottom off ; The screen is just average. Not great, not bad ; Samsung customer service leaves much to be desired. My unit arrived with a power adapter that was making snapping,...

no one did "refurbishing"

Newegg offered an RMA, but I don't have several weeks to wait, so I ordered new chips from (a S. American River) with overnight shipping. Newegg offered $10 off, but the other was still cheaper for the same item I hope new RAM is the only fix I'll need.

Nice design, good battery life so far, a good value

if it worked. I got BSOD within 2 minutes, and regularly after that. I installed a ton of updates, ran chkdsk, and finally found a problem using Memtest86+: bad RAM ; I agree with the other poster who complained about he wrist-rests, the way the layers...

Screen bad upon arrival

To continue my cons, additionally, you have to pay for shipping to their service center. So essentially, you get the awesome privilege of paying to have been sold a broken unit. As to the bloatware, particularly their software updater, it arrived...

The build quality of this laptop is extraordinary. It is rock solid and a snappy performer. I didn't get to play with the performance much before sending it in to be serviced, but although it has plenty of bloatware, it seemed to perform fairly well....

Here we go ; 1. Another reviewer mentioned the sharp lip. Yes, it is pretty sharp and digs into the wrists if you wrest them there ; 2. I had screen issues. Whoever is doing the refurb job on these is apparently blind. The right third of my screen was...
