Samsung Series 9 NP900X3C Review

The Samsung Series 9 is one of the most well-rounded Ultrabooks we've seen with excellent performance, decent speakers and a great display.

Fantastic high-res display ; Excellent performance ; Good backlit keyboard ; 7.5 hours of battery life

Limited amount of ports ; Loud touchpad clicks ; Pricey

The Samsung Series 9 is the most well-rounded Ultrabook we’ve reviewed to date. It gets almost everything right – it even has decent speakers. The 1600×900 PLS display has fantastic picture quality with unlimited viewing angles and an anti-glare...

Samsung Series 9 NP900X3C-A01 (13-inch, 2012)

The first version of the Samsung Series 9 debuted before the word "Ultrabook" had even been coined by Intel. It was a proto-ultrabook, a thin-and-light 13-inch laptop that looked like a Windows variation of the MacBook Air , clad in black duralumin....

The new 13-inch Samsung Series 9 is incredibly light and thin, with excellent battery life, and a bright matte 1,600x900-pixel screen.

It lacks bells and whistles (discrete graphics, more storage, faster processor) seen in higher-end Windows ultrabooks, and the base model costs $100 more than a MacBook Air.

If you're looking for a beautifully built, extremely thin, light, and portable ultrabook, the Samsung Series 9 rises above the competition. It may lack a few top-end features, but it's a perfect ultraportable for those who can afford it.

"Another technological failure for an expensive cost."

I this computer wasn't my present, I would have never even looked towards it. I don't actually see the point of such computer at all.

The speakers produce some pretty decent sound.

-Gets REALLY hot

"Touchpad is TERRIBLE!!"

I would NOT recommend this product to a friend. If you don't mind carying an external mouse and turning off the touchpad, then I would recommend this computer.

This computer is extremely durable! It has survived multiple drops. Battery life is excellent. Computer is extremely light and keyboard touch is excellent. Screen is crisp and clear and computer is very fast.

The touchpad is so extremely sensitive that you cannot type on it without turning it off. There is no way to have the touchpad deactivated when typing so you are relegated to using an external mouse. I have multiple coworkers with the same problem.

Love this laptop but

Four hardware problem in 2 device is a very hi percentage of hardware failure. but overall I love this laptop. Should I go to the exorcist before the Samsung service center? ;-)

Awesome Little Laptop

As one of the first real competitors to the Mac Air, this laptop is slim, light, and stylish. Everything is compacted into this such a small chasis that you wonder how everything can fit into this thing. The Samsung PLS display makes using this laptop...

Awesome Ultrabook

This computer is one of the most fun that I have had to play with yet! I was super stoked when I saw how little bloatware came with the computer. Normally I would have to do a complete wipe of the drive, but this time I just installed 2 programs and...

This is a great computer in almost every area. The idea of owning a computer like this is that you want something ultra-portable (like a netbook) but powerful like your average desktop or above standard laptop. It has all of that. The undervolted i5...

This can hardly even be considered a con, but you will not be able to really use this as a gaming computer for newer games. It's more of a point I felt like sharing, that if you want a computer for gaming, this really isn't it. I mean, it can handle...
