Review Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite 905S3G-K01DE Subnotebook

Ultraslim - the AMD way. Samsung's rather expensive ATIV Book 9 Plus was released some time ago and has been called the "most beautiful Ultrabook" by some. The ATIV Book 9 Lite uses AMD components and is offered at a more palatable price point. What...

Thin and elegant; Reasonable stiff base unit; Matte display panel; Good keyboard; Quiet even under load; Low power consumption

Comparatively low performance; Low battery capacity hampers battery life; Pricey

We still don't know how Samsung modified the quad-core APU. Subjectively, the performance of the SSD-equipped notebook is quite good.

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite entry-level DTR laptop has a great looking design, but with mediocre performance, it's all sizzle, no steak.

Slim chassis and lightweight design. Affordable price. Speedy solid-state drive

Lackluster battery life. Miserable performance from Samsung's mystery processor

As most any parent will surely agree, no two children are alike, not even within the same family. The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite looks a great deal like the premium Ultrabook Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus, our Editors' Choice for high-end ultrabooks. The much...

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite (NP905S3G) User Review

At its current price the Book 9 Lite doesn't deliver a good value for the money.

Non-glare non-touchscreen (a glossy touchscreen version is available for those who want it) ; Cool and quiet ; Reasonably affordable ; SSD with 10 second startup time

Relatively slow CPU ; Moderate battery capacity ; Needs special dongles for the network and VGA devices ; Limited potential for hardware upgrades

What were Samsung thinking of when they designed this notebook? Perhaps it is aimed at those who desire portability, ease of use and modest computing power while wanting something bigger than a tablet with a keyboard, all at a reasonable price. Anyone...

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite review: A cut-price ultrabook experience

Summary: The 13.3-inch Windows 8-based Ativ Book 9 Lite looks like an ultrabook and comes with an attractive price tag, but has Samsung cut too many corners in pursuit of affordability?

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite review: Budget AMD-powered plastic letdown

Sometimes it's pretty hard to tell what constitutes "low-cost" in a laptop. There are doorbuster, underpowered computers for $300, plenty of perfectly decent bargains for $500 , and a wide swath of ultrabooks and gaming PCs that'll get as expensive as...

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite has a touch screen, feels reasonably sleek, and handles everyday tasks reasonably well.

A plastic design, underwhelming display and battery life, and underpowered AMD processing.

Samsung’s latest budget spin on a Windows touch-screen, AMD-powered, ultrabook-esque laptop has some flair, but the corners it cuts aren't worth the money saved.

Incredibly Thin Form Factor, Long Battery Life, High Quality Touchpad

Expensive, No Touch-Display

Instead the Samsung ATIV Book 9 focuses on one very specific function. To offer as much performance in as small a form factor as possible. With its durable and incredibly thin design and long lasting the battery the Samsung ATIV Book 9 is ideal for...

Samsung ATIV Book 9-Lite NP915S3G-K01 13.3-inch Touch Screen Notebook Review

Samsung's ATIV Book 9-Lite slots in somewhere between mainstream laptop and tablet on steroids, thoughat first glance it looks unassailably like an Ultrabook.

Elegant, lightweight design, Comfortable keyboard and touch pad, Good speakers, Innovative SideSync software

Painfully slow performance, Keyboard not backlit, Installing SideSync is tricky

Even if you have to spend $100 or $200 more, we consider it worthwhile to opt for a Core i3 or Core i5 touch ultrabook. (At this end-of-September writing, Lenovo was offering a Core i7 version of the IdeaPad U310 Touch for $799.) The Lite may trick...

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite review - Pocket-lint

Windows 8 is beginning to embed itself into the public knowledge and we're getting more and more used to the concept of touchscreen laptops. And that's

Decent trackpad, responsive island keyboard, thin and of fair weight for size, affordable, decent battery life, we like the way it looks

Plasticky build, screen ought to be higher resolution, screen reflections, AMD processor limitations

The first ATIV model that we've seen for review breathes fresh life into the Samsung laptop range. The Book 9 Lite is a good looking, albeit fairly plasticky, 13.3-inch offering that's affordable and just as on the money when it comes to all those...

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite

Samsung's ‘Lite'weight laptop has portability down, but proves disappointingly gutless.

Thin, lightweight ; Excellent battery life ; Attractive design

Disappointing performance ; Low-quality screen

Fantastic battery life and a lightweight, ultra-thin design are easy to recommend, but low performance and a low-quality screen make the ATIV Book 9 Lite a niche product for users seeking mobility above all else.
