Samsung R730 review

The Samsung R730 is a pretty decent budget laptop. It's not particularly fast or well equipped, but it's an attractive and dependable day-to-day machine that'll serve you well both for business and pleasure purposes

Red lid ; Comfortable keyboard ; Affordable price

Interior section isn't as attractive as the lid ; Relatively limited connectivity for such a large machine ; Mediocre performance

Conclusion The Samsung R730 isn't particularly fast or well equipped, but it's a great-looking laptop that's well suited to people on a budget

Well designed, with an incredible screen and decent battery life, this is a great choice if you're shopping for an inexpensive desktop replacement.

Samsung R730 - 17.3in Laptop

If you want a large, easy to use laptop on a budget, the R730 could be for you.

A lot of screen for the price ; Relatively lightweight ; Roomy keyboard

Limited gaming performance ; Mediocre viewing angles ; Poor built-in speakers

There's nothing particularly outstanding about the Samsung R730, but it's a solid, well-made machine that offers good value. Were it £30 or so cheaper it would score higher, but nonetheless it's a decent entry-level option.

It's sometimes the case that when you're looking for a laptop within a budget price-range, you end up with a laptop that really looks like it's from that budget price-range. Thankfully that isn't the case with Samsung's R730……..

Often when manufacturers cut costs to provide laptops to a wider market, they get it horribly wrong. However, Samsung have got it pretty much spot on with the R730 and after those costs have been cut, you’re still left with an excellent-value device...
