Sharp Actius MP30 notebook review

Sharp's ultraportable Actius MP30 laptop weighs only 2.8 pounds, runs Transmeta's Efficieon 1.6 GHz processor, has a 10.4-inch screen, with 512MB RAM, a 40GB hard drive, and built-in 802.11g WiFi. PC Magazine finds the keyboard a little small (87...

Sharp Actius MP30

This lightweight ultraportable looks like a toy but works like a business machine.

The Sharp Actius MP30 is for people who prefer low price, high style, and small size to pure performance.

Sharp Actius MP30

Most multimedia-oriented notebooks these days are nine-pound beasts that aim to supplant a traditional desktop PC. Not so the Sharp Actius MP30. This svelte 2.8-pound beauty will have little trouble attracting attention with its cool, clean,...

Instant Play feature for CD and DVDs. Cool design. DirectHD port

Performance is a bit behind its peers. Keyboard and screen a little too cramped for serious productivity

The Actius MP30 ultraportable looks great and carries some new entertainment-oriented features, such as Instant Play and a glossy screen. It's nicely suited to consumers who want a compact machine.

nice features, but reflective screen

Many features crammed into a tiny footprint, excellent battery life, but I don't like the keyboard layout (keys actually vary in size) and the screen is as reflective as a mirror--hard to use in bright environments.

Very lightweight efficient design

Excellent for E-mail, officework, web browsing, DVD watching. The hard drive feature is great.

So light

Excellent screen--very light and fast enough to do office work and web exploration. Games run well too--not the very video intensive ones--check Radeon game compatability eg. Zoo Tycoon 2 would not run. Better to upgrade to 1GB RAM--Kingmax
