"Sonomas are out"

This seems to be the right place to come when you think that there are a chance that you might have an opinion, so.... Only thing that bugs me more with the internet than the Cnet review threads are hard coded window sizes. Anyway: I have now ordered a A

Sony is really banging on the audio/video drum practically screaming how GREAT this unit is for A/V. And then they don't even offer an audio digital out. Sure, there's one on the dock, but I for one won't be dragging that thing along all the time. And I W

"nice machine, shame about the service"

It's got everything you're likely to need really. And the xbrite screen's nice to look at

That xbrite screen is beautiful and great for dvds but it's not great for reflections and it's pretty harsh on the eyes. The laptop is a little too fat. But the BIG problem is the total lack of support you'll get from Sony if you buy this product. Just

"X-Brite Screen incomparable!"

X-Brite, X-Brite, X-Brite, X-Brite!!!!! Make sure you get a Sony with the X-Brite. The Screen is absolutely incredible! Glossy and viewable from much better angles than traditional LCDs. Screen images actually look 3 dimensional!! How could you possibly l

A bit heavy at about 8 LBS but with a 15.4" screen still good for actual laptop work. Yet plenty big enough for presentations. I would not want one of those 17" machines for travel. Price is somewhat high, mine was $2100, for what you get in features (pro

The screen is second to none - absolutely fantastic. It looks the part too, with nice styling. Feature wise it's very good - and the wireless networking was a breeze to get working in the local starbucks coffee house. Good keyboard too

Very poor IBM harddisk, which is slow (4200 rpm) but even more annoying is the self maintenance clicks that it makes several times per minute, which really grate on the nerves in a quiet location. The battery life is poor, and it comes supplied with both

"A very nice and expensive machine."

Got it for around $1700 with tax. Sony screen is UNBEATABLE! XBRITE is AWESOME! The automatic screen brightness adjust is helpful too, it makes my eyes feel good. It runs smooth, quiet, and cool. Unlike the Toshiba M30 series. Quality is definately #1, be

Nothing is perfect! This machine weights 7.3lb for my 15.4-inch screen, it's heavier than most 15.4-inch with Centrinos. The Toshiba only weights 6.2lb, but it's all good, if you can't carry a 7.3lb laptop, go to weight room. More wireless features such a
