Well you can't actually compare this with Toshy's HD-DVD laptops because, well, they don't make HD-DVD drives anymore...If it wasn't for the price I'd buy this in an instant.

Blu-Ray ; Certainly a looker compared to my current HP DV6000-series ; Massive resolution

Price (Considering the price of Blu-Ray Players/PS3s these days I would have expected no more than 3-grand...but anyway) ; Battery Life

at $5000 youd seriously want to get a desktop, but this is a quality laptop which you would lost in .... ;)

8600GT ; BluRay ; ZOMG!!! 1920*1200 on a 17

1.5 hour battery life ; a bit much for a laptop

Sony VAIO VGN-AR49G

A Blu-ray drive is just about the only justification for the Sony's high price; it's poor value overall.

good sharp monitor, quiet, excellent trackpad, full number keypad, excellent performance, good warranty and extras

slight bleed on monitor, resolution could have been higher, glossy case attracts smudges, poor battery performance, keyboard not backlit

a powerful all-round notebook that should please all but the fussiest
