The Vaio VGN-BZ11MN is a cost-effective 15-inch Centrino 2 laptop. It's solidly built, if somewhat uninspiring, and you may want to opt for its £100 more expensive stablemate to get a higher-resolution screen

Solidly built ; Good keyboard ; Integrated webcam ; Fingerprint scanner

Low-resolution screen ; Not enough USB connectors ; Too much pre-installed software

If you opt for the more expensive £748 BZ11XN model, you'll get a higher-resolution LED-backlit screen, 3GB of RAM and a 200GB hard disk

Sony for sure

I bought the FW11M about 3-4 years ago now. It still looks like new. The only problem I've had was replacing the BD combo drive, which was my fault anyway. I've had HP's, Compaqs and Dell's but none of them have stood up this well. Excellent laptops....

Sony Vaio FW11E

Probably the best laptop I've owned. Excellent features and it has proven to be very fast and great at multi-tasking, where previous laptops have run slowly if you demand too much this one just keeps on going, even with several CPU heavy applications...
