Its a good laptop

Sure you could get an i7 with 1080 for a few hundred more dollars, or you could get a lower resolution for a bit cheaper. But this laptop is a perfect middle. Also, it has a strangely 'large' keyboard for a laptop in my opinion, just takes some...

1080 resolution ; Blueray ; instant internet button ; number pad

Battery life was a bit less than expected, and you can't download ATI drivers from their site, you HAVE to use Sony's bloatware/updater suit - but its not THAT terrible ; Oh, and it seems strange to happen to so many people, but my outer box was...

Great laptop

The position of the touchpad is correct. It is under the space key, so you will not touch it when typing.

Cheap. For the price you can hardly find any better laptops. So I give it five eggs ; Awesome 1080p display. Good contrast and brightness ; Nice keyboard, very comfortable to use ; ATI card, much better than Intel IGP ; It is powerful enough for those...

Average speakers ; A bit noisy under load ; I used system recovery function to shrink driver C. It takes at least one hour to install the bloatwares and that is very frustrating

Pleased

Have not tried any games yet, but I'm not much of a gamer. So far I am pleased, if anything comes up I'll be sure to post

15.5" HD Screen looks really good. Plays Blu-ray with no problem. Relatively quick bootup time. Number pad on keyboard is a plus. Very quiet PC. Handles multi-tasking very well, programs open and install quick

The box it was shipped in was destroyed (probably due to UPS) but the computer and its packaging were fine. PC runs a bit hot at times, would recommend cooling dock. Battery life is very short

A Solid Notebook

Overall, I am satisfied. This laptop is a good value at the price I paid (about $820). I do wish it had either better graphics or at least the i5 CPU or both. The 15.5 inch screen is nice, but it makes the notebook pretty large, which makes this system...

1. 1080p screen is gorgeous, but you should probably change Windows 7 settings to make everything look bigger. By default, the 1080p resolution makes everything on the desktop look tiny ; 2. ATI Radeon HD 5470 is much better than the Intel HD Graphics...

1. The laptop emits a high pitched noise. It becomes somewhat louder when you disconnect the battery. Apparently, it's caused by Intel's CPU switching from high to low power mode. Still, it's disheartening that Sony has not sound proofed the CPU or...

Read this before you buy

Most burners will burn about 2500 disc's before they show signs of errors, and other weird problems,But you can still use it for a reader when that happens for a long time. This is a great deal.I'm buying this for a back-up burner, just in case, plus the...

all the other thing are great but sony has this thing called the WEB button. When the computer is shut down you can just hit this web button and the computer will load a linux browser to surf the internet without loading the system which will get you...

not much integrated intel an use almost 2gigs for the graphics but you may wanna buy more ram

Good but not great

I love SONY products but this is just not the computer I expected. Since the price dropped after I got it, it might be a 4 egg rating for you. My friend owns the 16.4" i7 SONY and its definitely worth the extra cash and upgrade in quality.

Intel i3 is a solid processor with the ability to perform many functions without delay. The 500GB hard drive is big enough to store most everything except for the avid Blu-Ray and DVD storage freaks. Finally, 4GB of memory and the entry level ATI 5470...

The ergonomics are all wrong for me; the mousepad is irrationally centered to the left of the keyboard, the three USB ports all all clustered tightly on the right-hand side of the computer, the power cord placement is weird, and the power on-off button...

GOOD BUT

Ok, I beat up on the nitty here. The bottom line is Sony is getting better with there laptops and this is one that is it the right path. I can say this. The laptop is a good purchase but I would wait for ASUS and Sony to come out with a better one. The...

Will play any game you throw at s not a highest setting though but close. Big screen for the size weight is just right. Dual video monitors NICE when you work with photoshop/illustrator

Sound is to low even at highest volume settings. Finger pad it to the left so you are away moved the cursor even if you don't want to. The plug it to the left side next to the rear, and the CPU vent port is right in front of the plug. Plug gets hot....

A very good deal

I bought this because I wanted a very hi-res screen so I could do real work on it (nothing graphically intensive but lots of reading/writing/note-taking requiring side-by-side viewing as well as needing to have 6 or 7 applications open and running at...

Good specs, big disk, lots of RAM, 64b OS, fast processor, simply gorgeous screen, reasonably solid manufacture (the CD tray is intentionally a little "loose"), not much crapware to remove, EPEAT Silver (see epeat.net), good price, fast delivery and...

Power button annoyingly placed (I've grabbed it 3 times today and accidentally put the thing in to sleep mode!), only 3 dedicated USB ports (but the eSATA port is also a USB port - one or the other, not both at the same time), very limited performance...

SONY VAIO E Series VPCEB17FX/B NoteBook Intel Core i3 330M(2.13GHz) 15.5" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm BD Combo ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470

I downloaded 23 GB of music from another computer, connected to the network via wireless and the download went fine. I'm looking forward to being able to try out MW2 on it and seeing how the graphics card handles that. I tried putting Linux on it, not...

1080p, specs are perfectly fine for everything I use it for. Overall it feels pretty solid. The screen also looks really nice. Graphics card handles games like RoN easily. The keyboard is absolutely fantastic, in my opinion the best I've experienced on...

Certain parts (the case above the USBs, the CD drive) feels a little flimsy. I'd have liked more USBs, but I guess 3 is enough for a laptop. Fingerprints show up really well on it. Having to make my own recovery disks are kind of a pain, but it seems a...

If they could have put a better quality blu-ray drive and a faster hd it would have been 5 eggs. It's still a great computer for the price. its just delicate.

price, 1080P, speakers, blu-ray, has some good sony software, graphics not bad. performance with hd movies and games are pretty good. the cpu is good

cheap drive ( as in flimsy ), laptop seems overall delicate, slow harddrive ; it plays blu-ray discs alright but regular dvd's it vibrates too much
