Sony Vaio VPC-F21Z1E review

Sony's monster Vaio F is a hefty beast, weighing in at a knee-crunching 3.1kg. It's a Sandy Bridge Core i7 multimedia powerhouse that'll handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. Nvidia graphics give it 3D video, and the large screen is ready...

With Core i7, 1080p 3D screen, backlit keyboard, Blu-ray drive and 3D, this is all the entertainment you need

Too heavy for laps, too pricey for many pockets and the audio quality doesn’t match the excellent screen

A powerful, multipurpose luggable laptop. An ideal home PC that looks good and runs well

Sony VAIO VPCF21Z1E/B review

We've seen laptops capable of rendering 3D before, but Sony's luxurious – if perversely titled – Sony VAIO VPCF21Z1E/B is undoubtedly the best so far.

Sony F21Z1E review

Sony is continuing its roll-out of VAIO laptops featuring Intel's Sandy Bridge processors with the F21Z1E, a 16in powerhouse. As well as great application performance, the range-topping system also includes USB3, a 3D-capable Full HD display and a...

Hugely powerful in applications, and capable of 3D Blu-ray playback, but its graphics card is comparatively underpowered.

Sony Vaio VPCF21Z1E 16in laptop

Review Imagine my joy when asked to try out a 3D entertainment centre built into a Sony Vaio notebook. Imagine my disappointment, then, when I discover that the notebook in question is actually too big to fit in my notebook bag.

Overall, I was happy with performance of the Sony Vaio VPCF21Z1E/BI, it's pretty damn good but not great. Yet compared to others in this class that Reg Hardware has tested lately, it seems Sony makes you pay for that extra performance.
