Sony VAIO VPCF12AFM/H

Big-screen desktop replacement laptops have traditionally been reserved for the most high-end components, from CPUs and graphics cards to Blu-ray drives. They've also occupied the upper end of the price scale as well, typically costing $1,200 to $2,000...

Sharp design and sturdy construction; includes Blu-ray and basic discrete graphics; backlit keyboard

For the price, should move up to an Intel Core i5 processor

At a hair less than $1,000, the Sony Vaio F12A is an attractive desktop replacement laptop that provides Blu-ray and basic gaming performance; it also includes some bonus free software.

Good exc 4 wireless problems and less than blu-ray res

Overall excellent but should not have such weak wireless detection for the price, nor should it be below a full resolution display. I had to do a hell of a lot of tweaking to get display and video colors decent. Should not have to do this at this price...

Sturdy, sleek. Backlit big keyboard w/ music buttons and # pad. 1yr Office & anti virus. Quiet, doesn't overheat, fast, blueray, big hard drive, nice 4GB memory. Mouse pad pinch zoom & rotate. Great speakers. Fire wire. Betr than average cam &

wireless connect probs, less than bluray res. $1200 at Best Buy, not $999. Display looked a little washed ou in store. Had to do A LOT of tweaking to color ok. Mouse pad finicky. Apps freeze & have to close sometimes. No volume button on keyboard

Decent Laptop

This computer shows good performance if you don't use a lot of programs at once, but for programmers this might be a "not-so-good" laptop, since some need a lot of applications running. But normally this has enough memory and speed to do normal jobs...

Laptop contains: Blu-Ray, Back lit light, dedicated Nvidia graphics, and decent processor ; Provide good performance for light computing to medium

The processor as many of you said, it could be i5

Feature packed, excellent build quality

Blu-Ray burner, 1080p display, i7, GT330M, 6GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz, Adobe software suite (thrown in when bought from Sony), Bluetooth and wireless N make this laptop portable, yet a great desktop replacement.

I have the F12... Great processor power (i7), GT330M is nice, and 6GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz is great. I did get the 1080p display and it's stunning. Back-lit keyboard has a nice effect

Battery life is around 2 1/2 hours-ish. Should be expected with this much power, however. Vaio Messenger kept popping up randomly, so I uninstalled it

I used the system in Best Buy yesterday

Looks like the CNet review is right on on the features of the laptop. Would be nice if the computer had a higher speed processor.

Looks like a solid laptop and I would probably seriously consider one if I was in the market for a new laptop right now

the screen didn't seem as bright/intense color as it could be
