Review Toshiba Portégé R930-13F Subnotebook

Inexpensive Portégé. HP has the EliteBook, Dell the Latitude, Lenovo the ThinkPad T-Series and Toshiba has the Portégé. After the ultrabook companion Z930 we review the thicker R930 with the same form factor. A bargain for 777 Euros (~$1051)?

Durable surfaces, Lightweight, good runtimes, Keyboard with good feedback, Many ports incl. docking station, Bright, matte panel, The low weight and reasonable stability of the base (honeycomb structure) are still unrivaled in the 13-inch business...

Plastic feel, Humming hard drive, Delicate, flexible cover, Very little mouse button travel, Low contrast, small viewing angles, An option for a high quality IPS panel with rich colors and better viewing angles. At least for versions over 1,000 Euros

Toshiba Portege R930 Review

If you want the portability of an Ultrabook, but don't want to forsake features such as an optical drive and expansion ports, Toshiba's Portege R930 may be your solution.

Excellent Performance ; Bright Screen ; Good Battery Life ; Good Keyboard and Touchpad ; Magnesium Alloy Case

1366 x 768 Display ; Core i7 model is expensive ; Thicker, Larger and heavier than an Ultrabook ; No Blu-ray ; No Discrete Graphics ; Toshiba's diminutive Portege series of computers offer Ultrabook like portability with notebook functionality.

Toshiba Portégé R930-18L review

A good all-round business laptop, but it's far too expensive

Toshiba Portégé R930-1CX review

It's a little too large to qualify as an Ultrabook as the inclusion of a DVD drive means that it measures a relatively portly 26.6 mm thick when folded flat. But even with the DVD drive the R930 still only weighs 1.5 kg so it's certainly light enough...

It’s expensive for a laptop with only an Intel Core i3 processor and slow 320 GB hard disk. However, the R930 scores in other areas, with a slim, lightweight design that may appeal to business travellers. Battery life is also good, and its additional...

Toshiba Portégé R930 review

Toshiba's Portégé R930 is the latest ultraportable model from the venerable laptop vendor, offering mobile professionals a relatively compact system with more capabilities and greater battery life than comparably-sized but super-thin ultrabooks.

DVD drive, good performance, removable battery, smartcard and fingerprint reader, easy access for maintenance

Relatively pricey, heavier than comparable ultrabook configurations

The Portégé R930 provides a decent mix of capabilities in a highly portable format, even fitting in a DVD drive. With Intel vPro, a smartcard reader and a removable battery, the system ticks many of the boxes needed for mobile professionals.

Toshiba Satellite R930-1CV PT33LE-00M00REN

Long battery life, low weight, small dimensions.

The quality of this product is extremely low. During 8 months: HDD, video interface cable and LCD matrix were replaced under the warranty. Keyboard didn't work properly since the date of purchase and was replaced as well.

Toshiba Portege R930-18L

Toshiba is always my laptop of choice and this model is no exception to my previous experiences, just a lot quicker.

In these days of massive hard discs 125G feels small and mine actually shipped with only 100G.
