Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 review: Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905

Modern design; big keyboard; decent speakers; includes media controls and ample ports.

Glossy finish leaves visible fingerprints on hood; no Bluetooth.

The Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 offers good value as a middle-of-the-road mainstream laptop, but for an extra $150, a step-up Toshiba model offers more RAM and dedicated graphics.

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6916 review: Toshiba Satellite A305-S6916

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6916

Good performance; decent speakers; touch multimedia controls; 802.11n Wi-Fi; generous port/connection assortment.

Glossy keyboard collects fingerprints; no Bluetooth; costs more than similarly configured laptops.

The Toshiba Satellite A305-S6916 offers up a unique design, slightly better graphics performance than the competition, and a couple fun extras that make paying more for it worthwhile.

Satellite A305-S6864

Toshiba's Satellite A305-S6864 may not have a name that rolls off the tongue. When you combine its handsome looks with its great sound and reasonable $1149 price tag, however, it quickly becomes a tasty-looking budget laptop choice. Even so, one major...

Slick exterior and cool keyboard Good value machine

Brief battery life No fingerprint reader

If pocketbook concerns are paramount, the A305-S6864 is a great choice, especially for audiophiles. But it isn't the laptop for long work stints away from an outlet, and Blu-ray movie fans won't be happy with it

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6858 review: Toshiba Satellite A305-S6858

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6858

Inexpensive; very stylish design; strong performance; lengthy battery life; charges USB devices, even when off.

Battery adds significant weight; glossy finish attracts fingerprints; annoying case illumination must be manually disabled; mediocre speakers.

The Toshiba Satellite A305-S6858 is a very good mainstream machine, but we prefer one of its competitors.

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6845

The Toshiba Satellite A305-S6845 has a brand-new look, and the chops to match.

Terrific design. Intel's latest technology. HDMI-out. 3GB RAM. Sleep-and-Charge USB ports. Inexpensive. Plenty of storage. Good speakers. Discrete graphics for casual gamers.

One hard drive spins slower than the other. Resolution could be higher.

Review: Toshiba Satellite A305

If you need a laptop that can hold its own in your subterranean gaming dungeon, but that could also mingle in a black-and-white ball, your...

Breathtaking good looks. Sweet specs delight (casual) gamers without causing poverty

No Blu-ray to go with the HDMI. Mirrored surface is positively smudgo-philic, while the screen causes unwanted self-examination. The fingerprint reader separates the mouse keys and fails to justify its existence

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6864 – SlashGear Review

The Toshiba Satellite A305 S6864 is an appealing laptop with modern look. First thing to notice are the high-gloss surfaces from screen cover to the entire keyboard area. The unit has rounded edges and is finished with reflective grey metallic hematite...

Toshiba Satellite A305 Review

The Toshiba Satellite A305 is a redesign of the older A205, vastly improving the look and feel of the notebook, as well as adding the incredibly durable Fusion finish. While some of the lower body looks similar to the older notebook, everything from...

Above average LCD ; Slick keyboard (literally) ; Touch sensitive media keys ; Flush mount touchpad with great surface texture ; Excellent performance ; Outstanding price ; Great Harmon/Kardon Speakers

Warm touchpad ; Reflective surface can blind others with its awesomeness ; Wobbly 9-cell battery

Our review unit came with the larger 9-cell extended battery, which ended up not performing as well as we would have hoped because of constant background processes. With the notebook on the balanced power profile, and brightness to 50 percent, the...

Toshiba Satellite A305-S6845 Notebook

Long gone are the days when the primary differentiating factors between competing laptops models were just battery life and weight. Don't be mistaken---battery life and weight are still important; but with so many folks now using a laptop as their only...

Excellent battery life ; Solid overall performance ; Lots of hard disk storage space ; Relatively cool and quiet ; Vivid glossy screen ; HDMI out ; USB Sleep and Charge ; Great-sounding speakers ; Fingerprint reader

Too much preinstalled software ; Chassis easily attracts fingerprints ; Native resolution of 1280x800 ; Webcam image quality ; Bluetooth not part of standard configuration

Performance Analysis: The A305-S6845 surprised us in a number of our benchmark tests, performing better than expected. Of particular note is the A305-S6845's impressive battery life of almost three and a half hours. Also noteworthy is the system's 3D...
