Toshiba Satellite C655-S5542 Review

Compared with many of the notebooks we review, the Toshiba Satellite C655-S5542 offers mediocre performance and graphics. But for those who only need a system for simple tasks such as surfing the Web, checking Facebook and writing documents, this $399...

Extremely affordable, Lightweight for a 15-inch notebook, Large keyboard, Face recognition

Toshiba Satellite C655D

This ultra-affordable, AMD-powered laptop pairs netbook-like performance with a larger screen.

It helps to think of the Toshiba Satellite C655D more as a big netbook than a well-rounded mainstream notebook. At $398 (currently $378 at Walmart), it costs the same as many of those higher-end 10-inch systems, yet it offers a much larger screen and...

Toshiba Satellite C655D AMD E-240 Fusion APU Notebook Review

The processor inside the Toshiba Satellite C655 is just one reason why this laptop is interesting. The other is the laptop's size. Yes, laptops with 15.6” displays are the most common sold today, but Intel has made sure to keep Atom processors out of...

This $449 laptop will suit those with basic computing needs. Note, though: A single-core CPU pushes its performance behind that of its peers.

Gorgeous display, Roomy keyboard, Affordable

Single-core CPU, Low benchmark scores, No Webcam, HDMI, or dedicated multimedia buttons, Lid and keyboard flex, Mediocre speakers

Multiple Keys Didn't Work

I couldn't even get this computer to start up since the J,M,N, L, and other number keys wouldn't work. I was so excited that this came in so fast but was extremely dissapointed when it didn't even work

I bought one of these at another retailer for 30% less at a major tech retailer (name with-held think blue and yellow), however for the price i paid i cannot complain the wife loves. It is built for exactly what she does, surf the web and check email....

Not too shabby

I would love to just buy a new processor but I'm unsure exactly what socket the AMD V Series is? I'm also guessing I'd have to send it in to Toshiba in order to have them install it without voiding the warranty. (If they'd even do that...) Can upgrade...

3 GB RAM ; Screen is nice ; Onboard video isn't terrible (basic gaming) ; Keys is nice and easy to type on (not the font they used to label the keys though, BLEH /typography geek) ; Price

Bloatware (easily removable) ; Single Core Processor (Worth removing an egg, honestly.) ; I knew it came with one but I feel it is worth removing an egg for. If this doesn't matter to you, consider it 5 eggs ; Gawdly awful key labels
