Toshiba Satellite L730-10G

This 13.3-inch entertainment laptop is perfect for staving off boredom on the move. The Satellite L730-10G lacks graphical punch, but the compact display is a highlight, while the lightweight body and decent battery life ensure you'll be entertained...

Decent performance ; Good screen ; Portability ; Battery life

Weak graphics ; No HDMI ; Limited storage in comparison to rivals

While the Toshiba may lack graphical power and lots of storage, it's still a good entertainment machine for regular travellers. The sharp and colourful screen is a good way of enjoying movies, while the reduced weight and decent battery life make it an...

Toshiba Satellite L730 review

Toshiba's Satellite L730 is a compact 13.3in laptop that ticks all the boxes for everyday use – a 720p screen, internal optical drive and a lightweight chassis. However, considering its price, it's surprisingly outdated with its first-generation Core...

The Satellite L730 was a great laptop last year, but it looks outdated compared to the latest models

Toshiba Satellite L730 review

The L730 is a fresh and funky looking laptop that offers up a good range of features and decent performance for the price. However, it's a shame it doesn't have more RAM and that the keyboard feels a little bit spongy.

Funky design ; Good performance for the price ; Bright and vivid screen ; Sleep and charge USB port

Keyboard could be better ; Only 2GB of RAM

All in all, the L730 is a good looking machine that turns out to be a decent performer too. However, if you are thinking of making the purchase, we'd recommend you upgrade its RAM as soon as possible.

Toshiba Satellite L730

Toshiba's Satellite L730 isn't an exceptional Sandy Bridge laptop, but it's a perfectly acceptable all-rounder.

Decent performance at an acceptable price ; It's not black

Hard drive shock sensor is very sensitive ; Plastic build leads to clicky keys and optical drive ; Battery life is only average

Toshiba refers to the L730 as a "compact all-rounder", and we reckon that's a fair assessment, given that "all-rounder" is usually applied to anything that's not really a standout in any real way. This isn't a hero product, or even anything that does a...
