This fine wide-screen laptop doubles as a stand-alone CD player.

Elegant design

Sluggish WorldBench performance

Toshiba Satellite M65

 

The flashy Satellite M65 combines nice multimedia features with solid performance and battery life, all at a fair price.

Reasonable price; 17-inch wide-screen; double-layer DVD burner; multimedia controls; great Harman Kardon speakers; good mobile performance; long battery life.

No Windows XP Media Center or TV tuner options; limited connectors.

The midsize Toshiba Satellite M65 strikes a good balance between nice multimedia features, solid performance and battery life, and a fair price.
