Lightweight; decent performance; lengthy battery life with nine-cell battery; comfy keyboard; bright but not overly glossy screen; includes handy fingerprint reader

Thicker than other laptops in its class; prominent Toshiba branding on the case; small mouse buttons; terrible speakers

It's a little thicker than other 13.3-inch models, but the Toshiba Satellite U305 should suit home users who want a laptop that's packed with features but still lightweight.

Toshiba Satellite U305 Review

The optical drive in particular is quite thin yet still remains very sturdy. The optical drive (manufactured by LG and similar to drives used in some Lenovo notebooks) is actually as good or better in terms of build quality than some drives we've seen...

Reasonably thin and light for a 13.3" notebook ; Nice screen ; Solid selection of ports ; Thin yet durable optical drive ; Plenty of storage space for media files

Way too much keyboard flex ; Bad touchpad buttons ; Average performance ; Plastics used in construction feel thin in some places ; Poor speakers for a compact media notebook

Bottom line, the Toshiba Satellite U300/U305 is an excellent notebook in the 13.3" display class. Although it lacks the horsepower for serious gaming and might not have the best keyboard and touchpad it is one of the nicer budget portables of 2007

I was looking for a small laptop recently. I had several requirements like, it had to have a full size keyboard, and it had to be as small as possible. I picked up the Toshiba U305-S5097 because it fits both those requirements and it was on sale.

Best Laptop for the best.

Great Laptop!

very fast....the 2GB works well with windows vista. I have been looking around for weeks and I decided to go with this and I am very very happy with my choice. 13.3 inch screen is really nice , I can fit it in my backpack and it is very light. It also...

it has the worst speakers. But most laptops have bad speakers anyways so I will just buy some new speakers for it. Not a big deal

I love this laptop

I bought this abt 6 mths ago for 1000 bucks and it is my first laptop. It's small, and looks good. I love the in built webcam and fingerprint reader :) The only problem is that it could get too hot if kept on an uneven surface that does not let the air...

It weighs less and is convenient to carry around.
