Toshiba Tecra A5-S416 Laptop

The Toshiba Tecra A5-S416 is the sensible shoe of notebooks. The business version of the $1349 Toshiba Satellite M55-S325, it's equipped with a slower 1.6-GHz Pentium M 730 processor, a CD burner (instead of a DVD burner), a 40GB (instead of 100GB)...

Lots of features for the price

Uncomfotable mouse buttons

The A5's battery life of 3:05 in our tests was a pretty good. Its speed should be adequate for undemanding applications. The A5's WorldBench 5 score of 74 places it in the company of other notebooks with a 1.6-GHz Pentium M processor and 512MB of...

Lots of features for the price

Uncomfotable mouse buttons

A plain-jane business portable that's rich in features but suffers from uncomfortable mouse buttons.

Toshiba Tecra A5

Light case; four USB 2.0 ports.

Very loud keyboard; petite mouse buttons.

The Tecra A5 offers sufficient performance and a decent array of features for most business users, but you can find less expensive options.

Rebate Takes Forever

Nice little rig. does everything I need it to. Great buy at Newegg

Don't much care for the extra apps (which I dont use) that take up my hard drive space and memory. I really hate that it takes 16 weeks to get my rebate when my Dell took 3 weeks

Decent Comp

Go with the ACER, its a much better deal.

This overall is a good computer. But for less money the best buy is the Acer Aspire 1640 series, bigger screen(15.4"), bigger HDD(80 GB 5400 RPM), more and faster memory(512MB DDR2-533), DVD burner(8X DVD+/-RW)

None, just not the best bang for the buck

Tecra A5

Works great once you put 512mb of ram in. Have no problems with it. Great for the price

The ram! Comes with a lot of programs I don't need, like AOL

Highly Recommended

This is an excellent laptop for someone looking for a thin / light basic notebook. It may not have the latest bells and whistles like DDR2, an SATA hard drive, or a DVD burner, but the excellent price makes up for it. I wanted a lightweight widescreen...

Lightweight, fast, excellent price. Docking station support. WinXP Pro. Good battery life (2.5hrs normal, 3hrs if I am really conservative.)4 USB ports (instead of 2 or 3, which is more common.) Built-in memory card reader

Not enough memory, silver lid seems to mar easily. Speakers are very sub-par, likely because this is marketed more as a business-class machine, so you'll probably want to buy a nice set of headphones

good

i like the Pentium m740 and a good solution from the graphic card. so the computer is fast and picture is clear

only 256mb, should spend other 50 to buy a 512 momory card ; come with a lot of toshiba program which i dont use. spend a lot time to delete them. as other said, the speaker is not too good
