Review Toshiba Satellite U840T-101 Ultrabook

A bit late. Toshiba's ultrabook with touchscreen had been promised for the second quarter of 2013, but a test product only just reached us. An i5-3337U of the Ivy Bridge generation should ensure enough processing power and is supported by 8 GB of RAM....

High-performance ULV package, full performance even on battery, Tidy workmanship, Backlit keyboard, 8 GB RAM, Touchscreen ..., The performance stats of the ultrabook check out. Both CPU and GPU deliver good performance, even when the device is...

with mediocre swipe features, Display is too dark, Viewing angles are too unstable and cause color inversion too quickly, No Gigabit LAN, Heavy input devices, More light! The display could have been brighter, but the narrow viewing angles and the...

Notebookcheck's Best of June 2013 - Notebooks

Haswell. The name of Intel's new CPU generation has been branded in our minds. After meticulous preparations, we reviewed 13 test samples with the new chip in June. Initially, we focused on the Core i7. However, Apple's new Air comes with a Core i5. In...

Review Toshiba Satellite S955D-S5150 Notebook

Slimmer, lighter, better? Toshiba has placed their notebooks on a

Thin and lightweight; Good Touchpad; Includes an optical drive; Low noise and heat

Flimsy construction; Weak CPU performance; Restrictive battery life; Frustrating keyboard; Glossy, unremarkable TN display

Where to go, then, if you’re searching for an ultraportable, affordable 15-inch notebook? Options remain unfortunately thin, with HP’s Sleekbook 15z and Lenovo’s IdeaPad S405 receiving mixed reviews as well. It might be worth saving up a bit more and...

Review Toshiba Satellite P845T-S4310 Notebook

Affordable Touchscreen. Throwing in a touch-enabled display on an otherwise standard notebook is becoming common due in part to the touch-focused nature of Windows 8. Is this inexpensive 14-inch touchscreen Satellite a blast to use? ...

Attractive aluminium case ; Good CPU performance ; Sensitive touchscreen ; Large touchpad ; Decent speakers ; HDD and RAM easily accessible

Lid sensitive to pressure ; Keyboard with soft touch and short travel ; Rather slow system performance ; Graphics performance reduced while running on battery ; Some ports not ideally placed for right-handers ; Glossy screen should be brighter for...

At $700, the P845T is one of the least expensive touch-enabled Windows 8 notebooks currently available

Toshiba Satellite U845t-S4165

Zippy processing power along with a slender chassis and solid all-around performance come together in making the Toshiba Satellite U845t-S4165 worthy of serious consideration, though its limited storage capacity and so-so keyboard dampen its overall...

Agile Intel Core i5-3337U processor. Trim, attractive chassis. Responsive touch screen. Great battery life. Features Intel's Wi-Di technology

Cramped 128GB SSD. Only one USB 3.0 port. Keyboard flexes and yields shallow keystrokes

Although the Toshiba Satellite U845t-S4165 ($749.99 list) appears to be the latest entrant in an increasingly crowded field—Windows 8-equipped ultrabooks with touch screens, that is—its agile new Intel Core i5-3337U processor sets it apart from most of...

Toshiba Satellite U845T review: Great battery life and a slim body for only $799

There's a reasonable chance you'll end up hearing about the Toshiba Satellite U845T on a semiregular basis from us. That's because, at $799 for a 14-inch laptop that's ultrabook-thin, with a touch screen, Intel Core i5 processor, and 128GB solid-state...

The Toshiba Satellite U845T is thin, with a decent brushed-aluminum body, a 128GB SSD, and better performance and battery life than the competition.

The keyboard has squeezed-down keys, a small spacebar, and some flex under heavy typing. The low screen resolution feels dated in a midsize laptop.

While it's not going to dazzle anyone, the Toshiba Satellite U845T is a great example of exactly how much laptop $799 should buy in 2013.

Toshiba Satellite U845T-S4165 Review

With the Satellite U845T-S4165, Toshiba has successfully combined fast Core i5 performance, an SSD and a touch screen for a reasonable price. Best of all, this Ultrabook lasts 7.5 hours on a charge, outlasting most other touch Ultrabooks. Although the...

Lightweight design, Responsive touch screen, Long battery life, Fast overall performance

Keyboard feels shallow and flexes

Toshiba Satellite U845W-S430 review: No touch, but a very long screen

The wide-screen Toshiba Satellite U845W-S430 has an extra-long, higher-resolution screen, Harman Kardon speakers that pack a punch, and an attractive, compact design with plenty of ports.

The keyboard and touch pad are uncomfortable, the wide screen isn't a perfect marriage with Windows 8, and the screen doesn’t always play nicely with all streaming video content.

Toshiba's experimental extra-wide-screen ultrabook gets a Windows 8 software upgrade, but it turns the Toshiba Satellite U845W into a computer imperfectly matched for what Windows 8 has to offer.

Toshiba Satellite S955 Review

This laptop is a good value if it can be found for $600 but should be crossed off your list as long as it's priced higher than that.

The Toshiba S955, like most inexpensive Windows laptops, has its fair share of weaknesses. The display is adequate at best, the keyboard is lacking, and the build quality is mixed. All of these downsides are common of laptops in the segment, but some...

Toshiba Satellite U925t Review

Like the Sony VAIO Duo 11 , the Toshiba Satellite U925t tries to marry a tablet and a notebook into one device, but it's not the most elegant solution. While we like that we can adjust the angle of the display, the sliding motion itself feels awkward....

Quick boot time, Adjustable screen angle, Fast, solid-state drive

Switching to tablet mode is awkward, Standard-definition display that's exposed when traveling, Short battery life, Runs very warm on bottom
