Great mid range gaming laptop

I see a few reviews deducting eggs because of Win8.1 being the installed OS & I'm not sure why. Win8.1 is a terrible OS but you can upgrade to Win10 for free & I highly recommend doing that ASAP. Just remeber though once you have upgraded you can no...

Very fast i7-4700MQ CPU that hits 3.4GHz in turbo boost, not to shabby for a mobile chip. 256GB SSD for the main drive makes the everything super fast, blistering boot times! Highly capable GTX 770M 3GB GDDR5 GPU. It will play any game out there on...

The KB & track pad are not the best for gaming. A standalone KB & M is a must for gaming on this! The laptop exhausts on the right side instead of the back. Not a ton of bloat-ware pre-installed but more than necessary

FAST!! Great Performer

I used Classic Shell to customize my start menu and what a difference it has made. This machine is very fast and and well built. It deserves 5 eggs!

Super Fast SSD Built In ; Boots up to desktop in less than 8-seconds ; Super Graphics

Windows 8.1 ; Need to offer Windows 7 Pro

Great laptop

Would have given this 5 stars, but came preloaded with Windows 8 which is a horrible OS and particularly unsuited to a laptop without touchscreen. Was a bit of a challenge to get Windows 7 Ultimate, but now that's done it an ideal high-end laptop. Fast...

As previously mentioned, Windows 8 is a non starter. I carefully made sure prior to purchase that Windows 7 drivers were available ; Those darned 'Intel Inside' stickers are hard to remove. I don't do free advertisement

Initial Feedback

The Windows 8 / 8.1 GUI may make a lot of sense on 4" screen smartphone. It makes some sense on my 10" screen Asus Transformer. It makes no sense on a 17.3" screen laptop or anything larger. Windows 8 continuing the Windows Me and Vista tradition of...

Awesome hardware for a laptop. The 17.3" screen looks great. The 256GB SSD is configured as the main C drive and that as most shoppers on this site already know, makes it fly. The built in Blu-Ray writer is a benefit to those of us who like to back up...

Two small worries to start with ; 1. Audio out port has problems when playing video from the web. CD-s are just fine and I am feeding the audio in to 2.0 Cerwin-Vega amplified speakers. This will be a set p file problem somewhere ; 2. The machine has...
