Sony Vaio EB Series VPC-EB44FX/WI

There's no denying that Sony makes great laptop hardware. Its Vaio brand is often a go-to choice for design-minded shoppers, and the brand's relative scarcity in retail shops (compared with HP, Dell, and others) makes it desired by those wanting to...

Sony makes some of the best-looking and best-feeling hardware in the industry, which is especially welcome in a budget-minded system such as the Sony Vaio EB44FX. Intel's Wireless Display is included, and optional keyboard skins add a bit of flair

Why, halfway into 2011, is Sony still selling laptops with 2010 versions of Intel's Core i-series CPU

Sony's Vaio line of laptops, including the midpriced EB series, look great and include some high-end features. We just wish the CPU had been updated for the sake of better battery life.

Beautiful laptop with serious issues.

I bought this laptop for both looks and performance. I cannot lie that everywhere I went, people were just staring at this laptop in envy because it was so freaking gorgeous (I picked the blue one). Mine cost close to $1000 - a price I paid because I...

Stunning in appearance, crystal clear wide screen, comfortable & convenient keyboard layout with optional protection skins, HDMI input useful, decent webcam & great mic

Within 7 months of owning my Vaio, the hard drive crapped out on me, as well as the speakers. In addition, the fan just started running and running and running, when the system wasn't even remotely "taxed." New hard drive also showing signs of doom

With the exception of speaker loudness (lack thereof)OK

It is a i5, so with its pluses, will put up with its one minus. But the sound should have been checked by inspection prior to sending it out....

Looks, Keyboard, screen clarity, speed. Camera works well

Speakers will not make a loud enough sound (like a bee buzz) to be heard without earphones. Which give better tone anyways, so I can live with it. Sound levels are the only problem. Bought it online, so will live with that

Dont pay attention to the previous reviews. GREAT comp

First off, this is a solid laptop. It looks like a pricier product than it actually is, and the quality of the hardware is top notch. The system is very quick and responsive, and unless you talk about the included sony vaio software (which is decently...

Fantastic keyboard, solid construction, finish resists fingerprints, very snappy performance, decent screen resolution, quick set up, nice trackpad, lightweight, good battery life, plays games much better than expected, 4 usb 2.0 ports, hdmi out that does

cd drive is a bit awkward to close, intel's integrated graphics has its limitations, 5400 rpm hard drive

Horrible hardwear,scren, sound, tracking pad

I could not believe how bad the tracking pad is on this machine. I bought it in 2010 new, so it is farely new product . How in the world Sony is not testing their suppliers? How in the world these awful poor-quality screens made their way into Sony...

Recognizable brand name, thin body, 1 year warranty ,price around $800.00, respectable specs. Keyboard is better than other juky brands like Dell, Toshiba etc

Quality of picture , screen viewing angles, tracking pad, speakers
