Asus Zenbook Prime UX51Vz-DH71

It seems like there just aren't a lot of options when it comes to premium larger-screen Windows 8 laptops. And those that we do see, like the Acer Aspire S7 and HP Spectre TouchSmart XT , typically don't have discrete graphics.

Cased in aluminum, the Asus Zenbook UX51Vz-DH71 is an impressive-looking laptop with an excellent 15-inch screen, a strong combo of components, and prime performance.

A premium price to match its high-end design and components; no touch screen to take full advantage of the Windows 8 interface.

The Asus Zenbook UX51Vz-DH71 is a nice fit for anyone looking for premium looks and performance in a Windows 8 laptop who is willing to pay for it.

Asus ZenBook UX51Vz-DH71

The Asus ZenBook UX51Vz-DH71 ($1,869.99 list) is a high-end ultraportable for power users like multimedia mavens and part-time gamers. Its speedy SSD RAID array, 1080p screen, Core i7 processor, beefy discrete graphics and other performance-oriented...

1080p IPS screen. Quad-core i7 processor. Nvidia GT 650M graphics. Twin SSDs in a RAID array. Subwoofer. Good sound for a laptop. Additional damage and screen warranty protections

Mini-VGA, not Mini-DisplayPort. No touch screen. Middling battery life

The Asus ZenBook UX51Vz-DH71 is a power users' ultraportable, with a quad-core CPU and high-end 3D graphics. Middling battery life and "only" a 1080p screen keep if from earning our top honors.

A great laptop and tablet in one package

Love the design and performance of the laptop and tablet. Not a big fan of Windows 8. This laptop doesn\'t have a touch screen and like many laptop touchpads the placement and sensitivity of the touchpad leads to some frustration when accidentally...

Great system, bad ASUS QC

Fist off, the specs on this website are inaccurate at this point in time. The system comes with twin 128GB SSD, running in RAID0. It also has 8GB of RAM. I think the confusion is that 4GB of that is soldered onto the motherboard directly. You really...

Very, VERY fast in every way. Lightweight. Sexy

Dead pixel, noisy fans, 'p' key falling off. Asus build quality

Should be better for the price you pay.

This would be a great laptop if it weren't for a couple of issues. First, the fans are just too loud and they're always on! This gets annoying when you're trying to use it late at night or in a really quiet place. Second the battery life if is good but...
