Nice whilst it lasted

For as long as it lasted this was a good kettle, if a bit plasticky. However a year to the day the lid release switch just fell into the inards of the handle. Kettle then fell into the bin. Another waste of money on a product with inbuilt obselecence.

Didn't last long

A good kettle while it lasted. Nice to have filter attached to kettle, but just after the 12 month warranty expired, the power switch would no longer 'catch', therefore became useless.

Fast Filter; Fast Boil

I bought this kettle to replace an older Brita filter kettle. The Breville model does not hold so much water but the filter works much faster and the kettle does boil very quickly. I am always careful to heat only the amount of water I need but if you...

Makes an awesome cup of tea but.......

I love the look of this kettle when boiling and it does make a good clean cup of tea but...the filter compartment is a bit small.. it'll hold 1 1/2 pints max which is barely enough for 2 mugs of tea.. I just leave water in it constantly to save messing...

Very disappointed

I bought the kettle in December and already it is almost useless. The button which lifts the lid was always stiff but now it does not work at all and has come loose. When the kettle boils the lid sometimes flies open. In addition, the on/off button...

Great kettle except for the broken lid catch

The kettle looks nice, filters reasonably well and does the job. Had the kettle just over a year and now need a replacement, because, like other reviewers, the lid catch has broken.

Breville Magic

Our old one had given up the ghost so took the plunge and ordered this one with its larger filters... Wow is it fast -by the time you have taken down the teapot and spooned in the tea, its boiled! Prospective buyer - this is the one for you!

Good idea but didn't last a year

We live in a hard water area, so the idea of a combined filter and kettle seemed a good idea. But the button that opens the lid broke within the year. Very poorly built. Have now resorted to a stand alone Brita filter and a Dualit kettle: effective but...

Brill Upgrade

My old kettle was also a Brita Filter Jug one in white which I have been more than pleased with. However as a result of getting a new kitchen, the old one no longer matched hence the upgrade to the silver one. I also live in a very hard water area so...

Doesn't last

A good looking kettle which we chose due to living in a hard water area and to save the hassle of filtering the water separately. The first problem we encountered was the capacity of the filter area - enough to do two small mugs of coffee but we...
