Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens is a significant upgrade from the standard-at-review-time 18-55mm IS kit lens.It is an upgrade in many ways, but the 18-135's most attractive features are a wide (7.5x) focal length range, a relatively...

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Review

Solid and traditional Canon lens feel.

Solid and traditional Canon lens feel ; Slightly smaller than the previous 18-135mm lens ; IS system works as advertised ; Silent and very low vibration AF is great for continuous AF video recording ; Very easy to use, controls are smooth ; Sharp...

AF system, while smooth and quiet, is slightly slower than a USM lens ; Some CA is easily visible in some of our sample images

A fantastic everyday standard zoom lens, the new Canon EF-S 18-135mm IS STM is a high quality and affordable lens for Canon dSLR cameras. It is well worth the money whether it is coming with the Rebel T4i kit or as an upgrade or additional lens...

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM ($549.99 direct) is one of only two lenses from Canon that use STM focusing motors, the other being the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM . When paired with the new EOS Rebel T4i D-SLR these lenses provide smooth, silent...

Silent motor. Smooth video focus with T4i. Optically stabilized

Some distortion. Not quite as sharp as non-STM version of lens

The EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is the best zoom you can get for shooting video with the EOS Rebel T4i, but it's not quite as sharp as its non-STM sibling.

Really good all-round lens for the money ; Does both stills and video with great quality ; Rigid build

A little on the heavy side

Sweet Lens

When I don't have my 70-300L series on the 7-D I have this lens on it continuously. As previously mentioned, it can be used on a full frame body, AP-S bodies only. I have used this lens for weddings and it is great. One downside (onloy slight) is that...

Does Not Creep ; Should Be An L Series ; Tack Sharp And Fast

Full Frame Body ; Not Able To Be Used On A

Could be an "L" series lens

Saw this lens and read reviews stating how fast and sharp it was. It is truly hard to believe this is a kit lens. it is amazingly fast to focus, tack sharp and super quiet. for a non "L" series EF-S lens, it has the makings of a winner. I would...

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM review by johnheiam

Compared to the Canon 28 - 135mm IS USM lens it is sharper in the center, and less sharp in the corners for all focal lengths. In general I prefer it to the 28 - 135mm IS USM lens.

Decent build quality, sharp images, light weight

a little slow to focus even in bright light
