Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM ($549.99 direct) is one of only two lenses from Canon that use STM focusing motors, the other being the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM . When paired with the new EOS Rebel T4i D-SLR these lenses provide smooth, silent...

Silent motor. Smooth video focus with T4i. Optically stabilized

Some distortion. Not quite as sharp as non-STM version of lens

The EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM is the best zoom you can get for shooting video with the EOS Rebel T4i, but it's not quite as sharp as its non-STM sibling.

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM review by johnheiam

Compared to the Canon 28 - 135mm IS USM lens it is sharper in the center, and less sharp in the corners for all focal lengths. In general I prefer it to the 28 - 135mm IS USM lens.

Decent build quality, sharp images, light weight

a little slow to focus even in bright light
